A VERY ' FRESH' & SUNNY MANILVA ON THURSDAY.

THURSDAY 24th/ JANUARY 2019.

We overslept this morning  and so our day is a little behind, to say the least, after a quick freshen up we noticed that Lyn was trying to make contact from Melbourne, so we then spoke to Jack & Lyn on the ‘ Skype’ video, they are both looking very well and our staying inside, with the air conditioning on full-blast as the temperatures over in Australia are at a all-time high, 29 degs+ overnight and reaching 41 degs+ during the day!

The great news is that they have just received in this morning’s post the ‘Christmas Cards’ that were posted on the 30th November 2018! Over the past few weeks they have seen a lot of their extended family both on Jacks & Lyn’s side, meaning lots of ‘Great Grandchildren’ running around! We had a good catch up with all their news, Jack has been given a good report from his ‘Heart’ Consultant, with a six month review, Lyn is in fine health, she had just had her hair cut short.

We then had a late toast & tea as we sorted the shopping list out for tomorrow morning when I’m out on my travels down to Sabinillas for the weekly shopping. Brenda then popped along to the local Chemists in ‘Calle Mar’ for the rest of our prescription tablets as well as a little shopping.

Today it’s looking a lot better, but still very cold & ‘Fresh’ – the sky is clear and blue, with no clouds, the sun is out and there is a light breeze blowing down from the mountains behind the village, for a change, by lunchtime it due to reach 18/19 degs, tomorrow even warmer, but still going down overnight to 8 degs! – over the weekend it’s staying dry & sunny, but going a little cooler, next week is looking settled, dry & sunny, with patchy clouds at times, hovering in the mid ‘ teens’ – still very cold  in the shade, watch this space.

For our supper this evening we are having our favourite ‘ Pan – Fried Chicken Wings’ -  well seasoned and then cooked in their own juices until crisp & brown all over, they need to be turned on all sides and well-cooked, Brenda likes to hand-pick at hers and I take mine off the bone! Served with some finely sliced ‘ Fresh’ Green Beans and a Baked Potatoes, that are “ Microwaved “ by the ‘ Second/Vegetable Chef’ to perfection, another one of her specialities!

We are taking things very easy today, keeping as warm as possible, relaxing and basically doing nothing, it’s even more quiet with no dogs for company with us in ‘ Doggy World Heaven’ at the moment, ‘Chispa’ is in & out to see us all the time, later we will watch all the ‘ Quiz Shows ‘ that we follow and then channel hop to find something to watch.

Sandra, Brenda & Thea !!!

Thoughts for the Day;  See above.
