A VERY ' FRESH' AND DRY SUNNY MANILVA ON SUNDAY.

SUNDAY 20th/ JANUARY 2019.

Just a little lie in this morning as we had to get today’s ‘ Roast’ on the way, we freshened up and grabbed a quick toast & tea before getting the day on the go. ‘ Chispa’ called in a little later and is staying around for a while.

Yesterday evening around mid-night we had a heavy rain storm hit us, it carried on for two hours, this morning it’s still grey & overcast but at the moment there is no sign of any more rain, for now! By lunchtime it’s due to reach 16 degs+ with patchy clouds, there is still a ‘ Fresh’ breeze blowing, tomorrow at the start of the week we are in for a very sunny day down here on the ‘ Costa Del Sol’ – as the breeze drops, with clear blue sky, reaching 17/18 degs+ - the rest of the week is at the moment forecast to be dry, with patchy clouds and sunshine at times, hovering in the mid ‘teens’ for now, the following week on the long range forecast is looking a little more unsettled, watch this space.

I studded the ‘ Spanish Leg of Lamb’ with Garlic & Rosemary, the roasting tray was layered with assorted vegetable trivets, before putting the ‘Lamb’ in a very hot oven to roast quickly, I then prepared the ‘ Boulangere’ Potatoes ( Brenda peels the potatoes!) – layered sliced Onions & Potatoes, each layer (3) of potato thinner, than the last one, seasoning each layer with Salt( only one layer) & Black & White Pepper, finally adding the rich Meat & Vegetables Stock, ready to go in the oven this evening, meanwhile the ‘ Vegetable Chef’ was preparing Chopped Carrots & Turnips, Broccoli & Cauliflower Florets in a three Cheese sauce, Glazed Baby Brussels Sprouts and Garden Peas. I then made my now famous ‘ Finger-Licking’ ‘Pan Gravy ‘ –  in the roasting tray, left to cook-out under the eye of the ‘Second Chef’!

Just a quick update on the football results from yesterday; Liverpool won 4-3 in an exciting game, sadly Everton lost 2-1, over here Real Madrid won 2-0.

As I came up to type/post today’s Blog, upstairs in the office/studio, I just caught the ‘ Movie Quiz’ on the ‘Pete Black Retro Roadshow’ on ‘ Castle Radio FM 89.2 & Online on the WWW’ – I sent in a quick guess, “ Pulp Fiction “ with ‘ Samuel L. Jackson ‘ - he has just announced that I’m in the draw for the Mug, one day I will win it ! Watch this space.

Yesterday evening the ‘ IPTV’ system went off-line and didn’t come back on until nearly mid-night, so we had to channel hop back on the terrestrial Spanish TV channels, we ended up watching an episode of the excellent Police series ‘Unforgotten’ from 2015,  with Nicola Walker &  Sanjeev Bhaskar, on ‘TVE 2 ‘ in English! With a ‘ Helluva’ cast of Trevor Eve, Sir Tom Courtney, Bernard Hill, Ruth Sheen, Gemma Jones, Cherie Lunghi, Hannah Gordon, Frances Tomalety, Tessa Peake-Jones & Claire Goose ! We are going to catch next week’s episode now!

Thoughts for the Day;  See above.
