A VERY ' CRISP' SUNNY MANILVA ON FRIDAY AT THE START OF THE WEEKEND.

FRIDAY 11th/ JANUARY 2019.

I was up a little early this morning and after a quick freshen up shot off on my travels down to Sabinillas for the weekly shopping, back at the house Brenda caught up with things and took ‘ Charlie’ out for his first walk of the day, he slept all night on ‘ Reina’s duvet, I only had the main shop in ‘ Mercadona’ this morning, before collecting the local newspapers from the ‘ English Bookshop’ and then shooting back up the hill, through the bare vine fields and around the 4 hairpin bends to the house to unload, after putting the car away in the underground car park I had a nice surprise back at the house, waiting for me was a ‘ Toasted Crispy Smoked Bacon Butty ’- smothered in ‘ HP’ Brown sauce – with a mug of hot tea, as Brenda was on the breakfast rota, she had remembered that ‘ itZabar’ is closed for six weeks!

This morning the sun was out early and the sky was blue as I set off, there was a stiff/cold breeze blowing, which had cleared the clouds away, making it very ‘ Fresh’ on all sides of the street, by lunchtime it’s only going to reach 13 degs+ down to 6/7 degs overnight, the coldest spell we have had since we arrived down here in 2006! Over the weekend we are in for more of the same, getting a little warmer by Monday, then the rest of next week is going to be ‘ Crisp’ & colder at times, with the threat of the ‘ wet-stuff’ in the air – ‘ Mid-Week’ – hovering in the low ‘ teens’ – even on one forecast showing 9 degs during the day?! Watch this space.

For our supper this evening we are having ‘ Goujons of Hake Fillet in a Cruzcampo Beer Batter ‘ with Mushy Peas and twice-cooked ‘Frits’  - served with homemade ‘ Tartar ‘ sauce and lots of Lemon Wedges!

On Saturday it going to be a large ‘ Grilled Rib of Beef’ with all the trimmings and more ‘ Chips’ No ‘ roast ‘ on Sunday – we are having ‘ Medallions of Pork Fillet’ with a selection of local Vegetables & Potatoes.

Today we are going to take things very easy, I’m still trying to get rid of my cold & aches, which started again after my ‘B12’ injection the other day?! It’s ‘stay at home time’ – relaxing and keeping warm, basically doing nothing, because we can, later we will settle down in front of the TV and channel hop to find something to watch.

Thoughts for the Day;  See above.
