A VERY ' CRISP' AND SUNNY MANILVA ON WEDNESDAY.

WEDNESDAY 2nd/ JANUARY 2019.

We were all up very early this morning as the ‘Moffatt’s’ were hitting the road home early! ( 400 kms!)  ‘Chico & Charlie’ didn’t know what was happening,  as we woke them up early, after a very quick freshen up we had a quick toast and tea before the folks set off back to Mojacar, not before Tim’s ‘Birthday’ celebration, which is today, in fact they were too quick and have left behind Tim’s sun glasses and Thea’s ‘ iPad’ – they have all ready gone in the post, all part of the service of the “ Casa Sexton Boutique Hotel “!

We also took both the dogs out for their first walk of the day down, at the same time, around the underground car park, I will be passing back the ‘ remote control key’ to claim back the large deposit, at the Town Hall later! Both ‘ Charlie & Chico’ have loved having the folks here as they have been taken out for extra long walks, yesterday morning around the village, before we went down to Sabinillas for our Tapas lunch etc. ‘ Chico’ is due to be collected later today, we are waiting to hear when, we are going to miss him as he’s a real character and such a good lad, we always miss him terribly when he goes home! ‘Charlie’ is with us for another 8/9 days, over the ‘ New Years Eve’ celebrations ‘ Chispa’ has been in and out to see her friends also.

As we set off down to the bottom of the village the ‘New Moon & Star’ were shining brightly, as yet another beautiful ‘Red Sunrise’ came up above the Mediterranean, there is just a very slight breeze and the sky was clearing over the mountains, by lunchtime it’s forecast to reach 19 degs+ - over the next couple of days and the weekend it’s going a little cooler as the wind picks up, only reaching 14 degs at times, meaning that for the “ Three Kings “ parade/celebrations on Saturday evening along ‘Calle Mar’ it will at least be dry, down to 8/9 degs during the night, both ‘ cold’ by our standards for the time  of the year, next week is now looking the same, with no sign of the ‘ wet-stuff’ – its’ going to ‘ Crisp’ in sunny Manilva, watch his space.

Today we are now settling back into our routine after all the excitement of the state visit of the ‘ Moffatt’s from Mojacar ’ – Brenda is pottering about and I’m up in the office/studio on the ‘WWW’ catching up with all the news, reading the ‘E-Mails & Facebook Messages’ etc – before typing/posting today’s Blog.

For our supper this evening we are having ‘ Pan-Seared Fillets of Chicken Breast’ finished in foaming Lime Butter, with Garden Peas and twice-cooked ‘ Chips’ – tomorrow it’s ‘ Omelett’s of Choice’ with a Baked Potato, a ‘ Fish Supper’ on Friday and a ‘ Steak Night ‘on Saturday, Sunday is still TBC, watch this space.

Yesterday evening after supper we all settled down to watch the new series of the excellent “ Luther “ played by Idris Elba, the Detective with no scruples, driving without a seat belt, living above an old shop, sleeping in his clothes etc, nothing changed, it’s on for the next four nights, with more horror, to start he is kidnapped and beaten up by old gangster, then he’s given a new partner, a ‘ fast tracker ‘ lady Detective with attitude, the first body had no eyes or tongue, the next one was nailed to the floor with over a hundred bolts!  A police ‘snitch’ had his head nearly blown-off, a masked murderer who stalks women on public transport as ‘ Hermione Norris’(Coldfeet) appeared as a psychiatrist with problems, her husband is a killer, who she washes down with cold water, as he stands naked, saying he’s sorry! At the end a character from 'Luther's' past arrives at his door and say's ' Wotcher' !With more to come this evening we can’t wait!

Thoughts for the Day;  See above.
