A WARM & SUNNY MANILVA ON SUNDAY.

SUNDAY 22^nd/OCTOBER 2017.

We had a little lie this morning and after a quick cup of tea & toast we got the day on the go, Brenda started on the vegetables and I got the ‘ Roast’ on the go.

At Brenda’s request it’s ‘ Roast Loin of Pork’ with a savoury ‘Mixed Provence Herb’ stuffing and finger-licking Pan Gravy. I roast the Pork on a bed of trivets ( all the ends of vegetables, etc) after marinating it in Lemon Juice, I then prepared the ‘ Goose-Fat ‘ Roast Potatoes, par-boiled first and tossed in the goose fat, they go in the oven this evening, along with the Broccoli & Cauliflower Florets in a three Cheese sauce, we are also having Crushed Carrots & Turnips, Diamond Cut Green Beans & Garden Peas, the Pork will be garnished with Glazed ‘ Fuji’ Apple slices.

After the Pork came out of the oven I made the pan-gravy in the traditional way, after removing all the trivets I de-glaze the pan, after making a Roux, with flour, using a strong Chicken/ Vegetables stock, I adjust the seasoning and add a dash of Gravy Browning, it’s then left to cook-out under the able ‘eye ’of the ‘ Second Chef’

PS, It's definitely a ' Pork ' day today, over in England,Jenny is having 'Roast Loin of Pork' with all the trimmings and here Pete Black off the lunchtime 'Castle Radio' request show is having 'Belly of Pork ' with the same vegetables etc! 

We have another glorious day down here on the ‘ Costa Del Sol’ – our favourite time of the year, the sun was out early, the sky has cleared and it’s bright blue, there is just a slight breeze, making it very pleasant, by this afternoon its will be in the mid 20s, next week is looking the same, warm & sunny and hovering in the mid/high 20s, watch this space.

At lunchtime we are going along to ‘ Bar Castillo ‘ for a nice drink and Tapas,sat outside in the warm sunshine, we are expecting the main work to start tomorrow on ‘ Calle Mar ‘ as it looks like all the preparation work is ready, so we won’t get many more chances to take in the sights & sounds of sunny Manilva, watch this space.

We bumped into Mano, so he's joining us for supper this evening.

Just a quick update on yesterdays sports results; Lewis Hamilton is on the pole position for today’s ‘ US Grand Prix’ – Manchester City won 3-0 and Barcelona won 2-0.

After supper this evening we are going on the ‘Skype’ video to Canada to catch up with all Sandra & Bills news, next week it’s Sandra’s birthday.
