A WARM & SUNNY MANILVA ON SATURDAY.

SATURDAY 21st/ OCTOBER 2017.

We managed a little lie in this morning as the village is very quiet, no deliveries, including the gas bottle delivery man, as ‘Calle Mar’ is now permanently closed?! Watch this space.
In fact the gas-man has just come up our street from the bottom way, in his lorry, and then fiddled his way, for the moment, into ‘Calle Mar’ and then back down the next street, before they close the top of our streets for the main works.

To start the day in the right direction I had a cooked breakfast of ‘ Campo’ Fried Eggs & Crispy Smoked Bacon with buttered toast, Brenda had her usual open on brown Crispy Smoked Bacon ‘Butty’ with mugs of steaming tea.

Brenda is now washing/shampooing her hair and I’m up in the office/studio on the ‘WWW’ catching up with the E-Mails etc before typing/posting the Blog, as you can see!

See below the latest picture of the on-going construction of the ‘ Estepona Hospital’ -  progressing quickly.

Just a quick update on ' Doggy World Heaven ' - next week 'Reina' is back with us for two days on Tuesday/Wednesday, then ' Charlie' arrives on Thursday for long weekend break until the following Tuesday, meanwhile ' Chispa' is on ' lock-down' as its the 'wrong time' of the year!

Yesterday we had a call from a local lady that works at the surgery, she had been recommended to us by the Anna, the Dog Groomer, she has a ' Cocker Spaniel ' called 'Lolo' - she called to see us with him, he's joining us on Monday evening for 9 days, watch this space.

This morning the sun has broken through earlier and the sky is already bright blue, there is just a very light breeze, making it another glorious day here in sunny Manilva. By lunchtime it’s due to reach the mid 20s, tomorrow it’s the same and then next week we are in for yet another warm & sunny week down here on the ‘Costa Del Sol’- hovering in the mid/high 20s, 17/18 degs during the night, watch this space.

See below the ‘ Snowdon Horseshoe’ in North Wales on a fine day.

For our supper this evening we are having ‘ Grilled Fillet Steaks ‘ cooked on a very hot griddle-plate ‘ Med-Rare ‘ and then left to rest, garnished with seared Asparagus Spears, Button Mushrooms and Deep-Fried Onion Rings ( Milk & Flour ) – accompanied with whole Baby Green Beans and twice-cooked ‘ Pont Neuf Frits ‘ ( Doorstep chips! )  – they were served at the ‘ Chez Clovis ‘ restaurant near the ‘Pont Neuf’( New Bridge ) in Paris, in fact the oldest one in Paris! On the side a sauceboat of the classic ‘Bearnaise’ sauce, made with clarified butter ,emulsified in egg yolks and white wine vinegar flavoured with Tarragon herbs.

On the sports front this weekend; it’s the ‘US Grand Prix’ at the ‘Circuit of the Americas’  in Austin Texas, meanwhile back in the ‘UK’ in the ‘Premier League’ Manchester City are at home to Burnley and then tomorrow Everton welcome Arsenal and Liverpool go down the ‘MI’ to play Tottenham Hotspur, over here in ‘ La Liga’ Barcelona welcome Malaga and Real Madrid are at home to Eibar.
Yesterday evening we had a ‘TV’ marathon, ‘Pointless, Mastermind & Would I Lie to You’ then the final episode of ‘ Cold Feet ‘ followed by new series of the long-running comedy quiz show ‘ QI ‘ with the new host Sandi Toksvig, it was very funny, and finally ‘The Graham Norton Show ‘ with a good selection of guests.

Thoughts for the Day; See above.
