We were both up very early this morning and
took both the dogs out for their first walk of the day, ‘Lolo’ slept in his bed
by the side of our and ‘ Charlie’ spent the night downstairs on the settees, as
usual, they are both fine together, Charlie has settled in, ‘Lolo ‘ is eating
everything and ‘Charlie’ eats when he want’s to.
I then set off on my travels down through
the vine fields as a beautiful ‘ red sky ‘ was breaking through, above the ‘
Mediterranean ‘ - the sun was out early and the sky is already bright blue,
there is just a slight breeze, it’s another glorious day down here on the ‘
Costa Del Sol ‘ – by lunchtime it’s forecast to be 25+ degs, inland in Seville
it’s going to be 32/33 degs, over the weekend we are in for more of the same
and next week is also looking very good, warm & sunny, a little cooler at
night, see the forecast below.
I had my usual toast & tea in ‘ Itzabar’
before doing the main shop in ‘ Mercadona’ – I then called into the ‘ Chinese
Bazaar ‘ for new collar for ‘ Chispa’ – next I went along to the ‘ English Bookshop
‘ for the local English newspapers, I also bought some special ‘Xmas’ cards. I
was then time to go down to ‘ Puerto de la Duquesa’ to the ‘ English Butchers’
where I bought a joint of ‘Top-Side of Beef’ for our Sunday ‘Roast’ I also bought
Homemade Pork Sausages, Gammon Steaks, White Toasting Bread, Malt Vinegar, HP
Brown sauce and Goose Fat! Finally I came back to Sabinillas and went to the
far end of the promenade to the local market for the fresh flowers and some
wall plants, it was then time to shoot back up the hill to the house to unload,
I came through the back streets up to the house and had to reverse back down,
to go to the garage to park the car.
See below a different view of the Church
looking across the ‘ Plaza Pozo de Rey’ in the centre of the village.
At lunchtime we popped along to the Chemists for some of our prescription tablets and on the way back we stopped at ' Bar Castillo ' for a cool drink sat in the very warm sunshine.
This evening for our supper we are having ‘Pan-Seared
Fillets of Turbot – Rodaballo ‘ dusted in seasoned flour and shallow fried in
foaming Lime Butter, with Garden Peas and Parsley New Baby Potatoes in their skins,
tomorrow night it’s a large ‘Grilled Entrecote Steak’ with all the trimmings
and then on Sunday, you’ve guessed, it’s ‘ Roast Top-Side of Beef ‘ with
Yorkshire Pudding and a large selection of fresh local vegetables and of course
‘ Goose Fat ‘ Roast Potatoes.
Last night we called Sandra on the ‘ Skype’
video to wish her and sing ‘ Happy Birthday ‘ – her ‘Personal Executive Chef’-
as you can see below, was preparing her ‘ Birthday Supper ‘ that she had requested,
a ‘ Rack of Lamb’ with a ‘ Shallot & Rosemary ‘ sauce with crispy ‘cubed’ Potatoes
and Garden Peas. She had had a nice day in work when all her colleagues has spoilt
her, she has also opened more ‘ Birthday ‘ cards than normal, see below, from her new found
‘ Family ‘ all over the World!
This evening after supper we will settle
down and ‘ Channel ‘ hop with our new selection of over 500 channels and find
something to watch.
Thoughts for the Day; See above.
