A OVERCAST & DRY SUNNY MANILVA ON THURSDAY.

THURSDAY 19th/ OCTOBER 2017.

I was up first this morning to see little princess ‘ Reina’ back with us for the day, she shot into her duvet, we then slowly got the day on the go, after breakfast of ‘ Crispy Smoked Bacon Butties ‘ – open on brown for Brenda, with mugs of steaming ‘ PG Tips’ - we started on the preparations for this evenings ‘ Gourmet Supper’ when Lee & Daniela are joining us.

To start we are having a small selection of ‘Tapas’ with a nice glass of chilled Cava, for the main course it’s “ Braised Steak “ in a rich ‘Red Wine, Onion & Shallot, Mushroom & Vegetable Salsa ’ garnished with glazed whole Baby Carrots and ‘ Hasselback Pototoes’ ( baked in Goose Fat) with Cabbage & Alcelgas, Cauliflower Florets in a three Cheese sauce, Garden Peas and Brenda’s famous Mashed Potato, accompanied with a fine ‘Faustino VIII ‘ Rioja.

For the dessert it’s my famous ‘ Crepes ‘ – I made the batter this morning – served with local Fresh Raspberries, Vanilla Ice Cream & a special ‘Maple Syrup’ ( flown in from Canada!) along with a small glass of a rather special ‘ Creekside Shiraz Icewine’ – from the Niagara Peninsula -  that comes highly recommended!

Overnight the rain has drifted away as there is still a little light breeze, the tail-end of ‘Hurricane Ophelia’ – this morning it’s overcast & grey, but dry, by lunchtime it’s due to reach 21/23 degs! The rest of the week and over the weekend is going to back to normal, for the time of the year, warm & sunny hovering in the mid 20s, next week is now looking settled, warm & sunny, watch this space.

This afternoon we will channel hop and catch the early ‘Quiz’ shows along with the regular programmes before getting ourselves freshened up for this evenings ‘ Banquet’!

Thoughts for the Day;  See above.
