A OVERCAST & CLOUDY, BUT STILL DRY, SUNNY MANILVA ON TUESDAY.

TUESDAY 31st/ OCTOBER 2017.

I was up early this morning to welcome back ‘ Reina’ for the day, she joined us on the bed , along with ‘Charlie’ – who jumps up when he’s ready to go out, he does his exercises first, we then all went out for the first walk of the day, ‘Reina’ shot into her duvet, we walked down the lower part of the village, before any of the wet stuff hit us, both ‘ Charlie & ‘Lolo’ are very good and are into the routine, we then came back up to the house along ‘ Calle Mar ‘ where there are just two ‘Construction’ workers digging a small hole to attach the emergency water supply, otherwise there is no sign of any major activity, at the moment!  Watch this space.

‘Charlie’ is due to be collected early this evening, after Jan & Brian return from the ‘UK’ - then possibly ‘Lolo’ depending on the flight times, back from Lanzarote, for Marta & Jose, if not he will be picked up tomorrow morning, when ‘ Reina’ is back for the day.

As we were out it was still overcast & cloudy, with a stiff breeze, no sign of any of the wet stuff, at the moment, the forecast is for it to set in for the next 4/5 days! On Sunday it clears away and the sun returns but still hovering in the low 20s, next week is looking dry & sunny but still only reaching the low 20s, watch this space.

See below a reminder of what Sabinillas beach looks like on a fine day!

For our supper this evening we are having ‘Pan-Seared Calves Liver ‘ – dusted in seasoned flour, with Crispy Smoked Bacon, Grilled ‘English’ Pork Sausages ( as it’s ‘English’ sausage Week!)  and garnished with seared Button Mushrooms, accompanied with a sauceboat of ‘Red Wine’ Onion Gravy, with whole Baby Green Beans on the side along with ‘ crispy’ diced New Potatoes tossed in foaming butter.

On Wednesday I’m making my famous “ Beef Curry “ with Brenda’s equally famous ‘ Basmati Boiled Rice ‘ – along with all the trimmings.

We are now up to date with all the serials that we follow, this evenings it’s the final episode of ‘ Our Girl ‘ and next Sunday the last episode of the ‘ The Last Post ‘ – then there are all new series starting, we are also watching all the other ‘English’ TV Channels on the new system, including all the
various Quiz shows.

We have a basket of assorted sweets ready for if/when all the local children come calling for their ‘ Trick or Treat ‘ Halloween night, there is a special extravaganza happening in the ‘ Casa de Torres ‘ in the next street during the evening, the ‘ adult ‘ one was on Saturday evening down in the ‘Pabellon’ by the sports ground.

Tomorrow it’s a ‘National Bank Holiday’  here in Spain, when they celebrate ‘All Saints Day ‘ – when all the locals visit the cemetery and decorate all the burial plots with flowers.

Thoughts for the Day;  See above.
