A WARM & SUNNY MANILVA ON FRIDAY AT THE START OF THE WEEKEND.

FRIDAY 14TH/ OCTOBER 2016.

I was very early again this morning to see ‘Reina’ back with us for the day, she shot upstairs into her duvet, meanwhile ‘ Pax’ came downstairs from his bed and I took him out for his first walk of the day, he follows us up at night as we go to bed, he goes to bed by the side of the bed on his own bed and stays there for the night, he’s ever so good and is getting into his own routine around the house, he follows me up to the office when I come up to type & post the Blog. ‘ Chispa’ has just joined us! The three dogs are all getting on very well.

As we went out it was damp & overcast but the rain had just stopped, as the morning went on its got a lot better, the sun is out and the sky has cleared, the forecast for the weekend and into the start of next week is looking good, its steadily getting warmer, for the time of the year its hot, 17/18 degs during the night and reaching 23/24 degs during the day!

See below the storm clouds over sunny Manilva yesterday and the ‘ Rainbow’ this morning.

I shot down to Sabinillas for the weekly shopping, I did our main shop in ‘ Mercadona’ and then collected the local newspapers from the English Bookshop, next I went along the promenade to the local market for the fresh flowers, on the way back I called into ‘ Super Sol’ for the English essentials before shooting back up to sunny Manilva through the vine fields, up the hill, around the four hairpin bends!

For this evenings supper we are having ‘ Goujons of Hake Fillet ‘using local breadcrumbs, Homemade ‘ Tartar Sauce’ with lots of Lemon wedges, ‘Mushy Peas’ and twice-cooked diced ‘ Frits’ on the side, tomorrow night we are having ‘ Grilled Fillet Steaks’ with ‘ French Fried Onions’ and then on Sunday we are going up to Bar Rojas for a light ‘ Paella’ lunch then in the evening I’m going to get a ‘Roast Chicken’ from the ‘ Rotisserie’ in Calle Mar.

We are taking things very easy this weekend just taking in the sights, sound & aromas of the village, last night we popped down to ‘Bodegoñ Andaluce’ two doors down from our house as there was a meeting that we had been invited to join ‘ Intercambio’ -  ‘ Language Exchange’ by our friend Helen, who organises them, it’s to help with the language by meeting for an hour with a Spanish person and speaking for a half hour in English and then for a half hour in Spanish! Sadly the representatives  from the ‘Foreign Residents Department’ of the Council did not turn up as well as the local English Councillor in charge of the department ‘ Dean Tyler Shelton’ ?!

After supper we watched the next episode of ‘ Paranoid’- another very gripping & exciting story line, car & foot chases, action in Germany, the Inspector in Charge messing things up again, the three detectives all with personal problems, illness, paranoid and men! A cliff top drama with a husband and wife in a wheel chair, a fire that nearly killed one of the detectives and a shooting by the man in the hood! Watch this space.

Thoughts for the Day; See above.
