A VERY HOT & SUNNY MANILVA ON SUNDAY;

SUNDAY 2nd / OCTOBER 2016.

We had another nice lie in this morning before we got ourselves sorted for the day ahead; for breakfast I made us ‘ Smoked Bacon Butties’ with mugs of tea, it was then time to shower and get dressed up to go out for lunch with Lee & Daniela to ‘Kokomo’ We met them down by the car park and set off on our travels here on the ‘ Costa Del Sol’

The sun was out early, the sky is bright blue and there is no breeze, by lunchtime it was hot and as the day went on it got even hotter, a perfect day to be out and about, our first port of call was the ‘ H10 Princess’ in Estepona for a nice glass of chilled Cava, see the picture below of Brenda , Lee & Daniela.

We then headed along the cost road past Estepona to the restaurant where we were greeted by the lady owner and led to our very nice table, there was a nice lady singer playing tunes on request, she was not too loud, just right, we ordered glasses of the house Cava Rosado and then ordered, Daniela had the ‘Melon with Iberica Ham’, Lee had an excellent ‘French Onion Soup’ and I had the ‘Prawn Cocktail with Smoked Salmon’ – we all had the ‘ Roast Sirloin of Beef ‘ - ‘ Rare’ with Yorkshire Pudding, Goose fat Roast potatoes and finger licking proper Gravy, a nice selection of ‘ Aldente’ fresh Vegetables on the side, for dessert Lee had the ‘Sticky Treacle Pudding’, Daniela had the ‘Mixed Ice Cream’ and Brenda had a large and excellent ‘Cheese Board’, see the picture below of the ‘ Sunday Roast Sirloin of Beef’

On the way back we called into see Lee & Daniela’s new house that they have bought with Daniela’s parents, it’s an empty shell of a large villa/ mansion high on the hills above La Paloma’ on the road to Sotogrande’- they are going to re-build in from within and make it into two homes over the four floors, it has large terraces overlooking the spectacular views, a very nice swimming pool and surrounding grounds, it’s like the ‘ Nob Hill ‘ of the ‘ Costa Del Sol’! See the picture below.

Just a quick sports update; Lewis Hamilton’s engine blew up over at the  ‘Malaysian Grand Prix’ and Europe our down by 3 points going into the final days singles matches at the ‘Ryder Cup’ in the USA, over in the ‘Premiere League’ Liverpool won 1-2 & Manchester City lost 2-0!

This evening we will settle down a little later to watch the next episode of ‘Poldark’ – last night we watched the first show of ‘ Strictly Come Dancing’

Finally see the picture below of a very old fashioned ‘ Black Grate’ It brought back memories of my ‘ Aunty May ‘ who lived in an old three story house on ‘Walton Vale’ opposite our church, she still used her grate in the late 60s/early70s when Brenda and I used to visit her!
