A VERY WARM & SUNNY MANILVA ON SUNDAY;

SUNDAY 16th/ OCTOBER 2016.

We all had another nice lie in this morning, ‘Pax’ is sleeping all night on his bed and then waits as we get ready to take him out for his first walk of the day, we went down to the bottom of the village and then back up through the ‘ Plaza de la Vendimia’ He’s into the routine and is doing his ‘ messages’ on a regular basis, he’s eating everything and enjoys his treats, ‘Chispa & Reina’ don’t bother him when they are here, next week ‘Reina’ is back with us for five days from Monday to Friday ( all early!) We have no appointments etc next week, as ‘ Doggy World Heaven’ is busy, I will go out for the weekly shopping on Friday morning, so we are in for a nice relaxing time down here on the ‘Costa Del Sol’

When we returned Brenda made her famous ‘ Poached Eggs ( not Campo!)  on Toast with mugs of steaming ‘PG Tips’ Brenda had showered before we went out, I’m showing later before we go out for a late ‘ Tapas’ lunch up at ‘Bar Rojas’ – Susanna's ‘Paella’ is very good!

See the pictures above of our lunch out, we all went up to' Bar Rojas' -  'Pax' was very good sat under the table, Brenda had a very nice glass of White Riojo & I had my usual ' Cuba Libre' . the 'Pealla' was very tasty and Brenda had the ' Carne Merchada' - it had been made by Lumy, one of her specials, ' Marinated Rump of Pork' in a savoury Salsa, we finished with a glass of ' Pacerone ' on the house, a 'Siesta' is called for!

This morning the sun was out early and the sky is bright blue already, there is no breeze and by the time we went for our walk with the dog it was warm, by lunchtime it will be hotter, the overnight temperatures are staying up, we have put a light sheet on the bed but it’s not ‘Duvet’ time just yet, the daytime its reaching the mid 20s,not bad for the time of the year, next week is also looking fine & settled, we will find out more later on the main news/weather forecast on TVE1! See below the sunrise over the Mediterranean this morning.

See below the ‘ Autumn’ picture of Colwyn Bay taken yesterday.

On Monday morning I’m making the first batch of my now famous ‘ Minestrone Soup’ - Mano’s Anna has been asking when is it arriving on the menu! I use as the base my Tomato Sauce that I made the other day, a good strong Vegetable stock, as many different vegetables as possible, all shredded/diced, as I can find, three sorts of beans/lentils, various pasta’s, along with anything else I can find to add to the pot! I add the secret ingredients, Tomato Frito etc and then adjust the seasoning before leaving it to cook off.

For our supper later this evening I’ve ordered a ‘ Roast Chicken’ from the ‘ Rotisserie’ in Calle Mar,  we are having is cold with a nice Mixed Salad & Parsley New Potatoes, I will pick it up at lunchtime when we are out for a short walk before lunch. Next week’s menu’s have yet to be agreed, ‘ Chicken Schnitzels, Calves Liver, Lamb Cutlets, Pork Fillet, Gammon Steaks, Beef Curry, Burgers, Seafood Risotto, etc’ are all up for discussion! Watch this space.

Just a quick update on the football results from yesterday; Manchester City could only draw 1-1 with Everton, they missed two penalty’s! Over here in ‘ La Liga’ Barcelona won 4-0 with Messi back from injury scoring, Real Madrid won 1-6, with Ronaldo also scoring after coming back from injury and the result of the day was Atletico Madrid winning 7-1, all three teams are leading the ‘ La Liga’ as usual

.
The ‘ Moffatt’s have been spotted in Madrid yesterday, they were helping Jo move into her new apartment with some other colleagues from the school where she is teaching, where next we are asking ourselves?!

Last night before supper we watched ‘ Strictly Come Dancing’ before later channel hopping, tonight it’s the next episode of  ‘Poldark’ Over the past couple of weeks we have been given lots of books to read, we must try to get back into a little reading, for a change, watch this space.

Thoughts for the Day; See above.
