A WARM & SUNNY MANILVA ON FRIDAY AT THE START OF THE WEEKEND;

FRIDAY 7^th / OCTOBER 2016.

I was up very early this morning, before daybreak in fact, I shot down to our local surgery, first, for a quick check up with our Doctor before she goes on holiday, all my readings etc are fine, I then carried on down to Sabinillas to go to the main surgery for my blood tests etc, it’s more like a ‘ Cottage Hospital’ and is very busy, the ‘Blood Department’ is run by a very efficient lady with two medics taking the tests, on time!

I then went to ‘ Mercadona’ as it was opening, for our main shop, next I called into the Wholesale/Retail Fruit & Vegetable market before collecting the local newspapers from the English Bookshop, it was then time to go along the promenade to the far end to buy some fresh flowers, I then shot back up the hill through the overgrown vine fields to our house to unpack. Brenda had seen ‘ Reina’ back with us for the day and ‘ Chispa’ has already called in, I then grabbed a quick breakfast before going along to the local bank in ‘Calle Mar’ to pay the electricity bill.

We have yet another glorious day down here on the ‘ Costa Del Sol’ – there was a spectacular sunrise, again, this morning, the sky is clear & blue and there is just a little breeze making it very pleasant, the forecast for the weekend is looking fine & settled and next week we are in for more of the same.

For our supper this evening , for a change, we are having ‘ Grilled Fillets of Salmon’ with Hollandaise Sauce on the side, Garden Peas and Baby New Potatoes in their skins, we have a nice large ‘ Entrecote Steak’ for tomorrow night and I bought a whole ‘Smoked Roast Chicken’ for the ‘Risotto’ on Sunday along with three sorts of Green Beans!

Once again this morning the ‘ Euro ‘ has dropped and is now down to nearly ‘ Parity ‘ with the pound, a lot earlier than forecast by all the pundits, this is not good news for us, it means that we are down nearly 45% on all our ‘Pensions’ that are paid into our Spanish Bank Account, as I've been typing/posting the Blog it has dropped again and is very nearly at 1 Pound for 1 Euro!!  It's all happened after an over nigh crash in the Asian Stock Market, the Pound against the $ is at its lowest in over 31 years!! Watch this space.

At lunchtime ‘ Pax’ is due to arrive with us in ‘ Doggy World Heaven’ for a month, he’s a lovely, old (14) ‘ Water Dog ‘ who is ‘ deaf’- he’s a real character and will be no problem to look after, we are looking forward to welcoming him and introducing him to ‘ Reina’& ‘ Chispa’! Last night we channel hopped before catching the next exciting episode of  ‘ Paranoid ’- lots of mystery and as the three main Detectives followed up all the clues, just as they thought that they had something there was another gripping chase which ended up they once aging lost the ‘ Hooded Man’! Tonight it’s the second episode of ‘The Level ‘ based in Brighton, this time it’s a young lady detective that is closely involved in the murder, as a witness, and is now be chased by the murderer?!
