A SLIGHTLY OVERCAST BUT SILL WARM SUNNY MANILVA ON WEDNESDAY;

WEDNESDAY 14th / SEPTEMBER 2016.

I was up first this morning to see little Princess ‘ Reina’ back with us for the day, she’s now a swimming champion , as well as  ‘ Miss Junior Estepona’ - as the other day she ‘ventured’ into the sea for the first time and was brilliant! At the moment she is relaxing upstairs on her duvet! ‘Chispa’ who will call in later will not be impressed!!

After showing we had breakfast, ‘Smoked Bacon Butties’ with mugs of steaming tea before getting the day on the go, Brenda is pottering and I’m up in the office/studio on the WWW.

We have just spoken via ‘ Facebook Messenger’ with Michelle, our very dear friend, Carols youngest daughter, she has booked to come over at Xmas to an apartment complex just past Estepona for two weeks with Matt and their two children Hollie ( 9) & Charlie (7)!! They are flying into Gibraltar on Xmas Eve and are here for two weeks! We have just spoken to Michelle and are looking forward to seeing her and Matt and meeting their children, it’s going to make this Xmas rather special, to say the least ( 14 weeks & counting) !

Today there has been a dramatic and un-forecast change in the weather, yesterday evening as around 6-00pm we had a severe rain storm, it was a lot cooler over night and this morning it’s a little overcast but dry at the moment, the rest of Spain is covered in heavy rain, winds etc, the ‘ Costa Del Sol’ as usual is missing the worst of the weather, we will check later to see the forecast for the rest of the week and over the weekend, watch this space. See the picture below of the road down to Sabinillas this morning.

Meanwhile over in the UK they are having thunder, lighting, rain storms & tornadoes after yesterdays hottest September day on record for over a hundred years 34degs - see below the picture of the waterfront in Liverpool this morning.

For our supper this evening we are having ‘ Chicken Schnitzels’ – ‘Escalope of local Chicken Breast’ coated in breadcrumbs and shallow fried in foaming Lime Butter, finely sliced Green Beans & twice cooked ‘ Frits’ on the side, the ‘ Schnitzels’ resting on a pool of a savoury ‘Tomato Gazpacho Salsa’!

Last night after supper we settled down to watch the final episode of ‘ One of Us’ on BBC TV, It didn’t disappoint, it was gripping as the true story was revealed, two family’s both with hidden secrets, a brother marrying his sister, a wife who was a serial  ‘lady about town’ – another wife who took revenge and spilled all the beans, the lady detective ‘fixing up’ the drug dealer, who she had sold drugs too, as a Peodphile, she then set off on a plane to get her sick daughter an operation, her sympathetic sergeant letting her go, the main character was the killer that had cut the throats of the brother/sister that got married along with their baby! Finally it showed a young brother and sister in one of the family’s who were also lovers, when they were young!! All set in the lonely Highlands of Scotland – lots of long cold night with nothing else to do, are you following ?!

This evening its ‘ The Great British Bake Off ’ which is also turning out to be rather dramatic as the next series has been pinched by ‘Channel 4’ - watch this space.

Thoughts for the Day; See above.
