A OVERCAST AND SUNNY MANILVA ON SATURDAY;

SATURDAY 7th/ FEBRUARY 2015.

Up as normal this morning and after our usual breakfast I set too and got things on the go for my famous ‘Minestrone’ soup, I use as the base my Tomato salsa and then build up the pan as I add all the vegetables, pulces and pasta along with mixed herbs, seasoning etc. Today I’ve used over 20 ingredients!

This morning its grey and overcast, at the moment, and slightly damp as well, hopefully it will pick up later as the day goes on; overnight the temperatures dropped here to 5degs but in the rest of Spain to -5/7degs! Please note Mr. Ian Duncan Smith!! On Sunday it’s getting better and by Monday at the start of the week a little warmer during the day.

At lunchtime ‘Scruffy’ is due for the day and he’s back tomorrow, next week ‘Reina’ is with us on Tuesday & Thursday as normal so we are planning to go across to Estepona on Monday morning for my visit to the barbers and then some other messages/shopping and of course the bank.

‘Chispa’ has just come calling and is playing around my feet at the moment as I’m typing the Blog and at the same time watching ‘Saturday Kitchen Live’ on the smaller PC.Mano called for a chat and a gossip and so has gone off with a pot on Minestrone for his meal during the night shift at the hotel!

'Scruffy' has just arrived and we are going out for a short walk a little later,he's back with us next Thursday & Friday for a two day sleep over.

Last night I was able to watch the Wales v England ‘Six Nations Rugby’ as it was live on BBC TV so I used the ‘IT’ connection to follow it after supper upstairs in the office; David & Jane went down to the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff to watch the game and from reports this morning had a ‘Helluva’ time – now there’s a surprise! In the second half England outplayed Wales and came out the deserved winners 16-21.

Tonight we are having ‘Entrecote Steak’ cooked on the hot griddle plate ‘Med-Rare’ with sautéed Baby Mushrooms, finely sliced Green Beans and a few twice-cooked ‘Frits’

Over in England in the ‘Premiere League’ today Manchester City welcome Hull then the ‘Match of the Day’ is the classic ‘Derby’ match when Everton welcome Liverpool , over here in ‘La Liga’ its also a ‘Derby’ game as Atl.Madrid welcome Real Madrid then tomorrow Ath.Bilbao welcome Barcelona.

So after our ‘Saturday Steak Night’ we will watch the sports round up on ‘Cuatro’ before channel hopping to find a film to watch.

Thoughts for the Day; See above.
