A CRISP AND SUNNY MANILVA ON FRIDAY AT THE START OF THE WEEKEND;

FRIDAY 27th/ FEBRUARY 2015.

We overslept this morning as I left the alarm phone in the office! We had a quick breakfast and then shot down to Sabinillas for our weekly shopping, I had to double back to the bank as the ‘Mercadona’ computer systems were down and the tills would not accept the debit card.

On the way back we stopped at the Sabinillas market on the far end of the promenade to pick up some fresh flowers and plants,see above 'Calle San Vicente' 1 at lunchtime;

This morning the sun was out early and the skies are blue, there is a little stiff breeze coming in off the Atlantic so it’s a crisp & sunny Manilva today; over the weekend its getting warmer overall and will reach 21/23degs during the day and at night its up to 12/13degs which means that we have taken off one layer of covers off the bed!

See below sunny Manilva this lunchtime,the stage is set outside the Town Hall for 'Andalucia Day' tomorrow, in the 'Plaza de la Vendimia' the work is nearly finished on the Roman Pottery Ovens ?!

Yesterday evening before supper we went down to the church as there was a ‘Memorial Mass’ for Lumy’s mum, Ann Rojas, it was very moving and we paid our respect to all the family at this very sad time.

As usual when we got back to the house ‘Chispa’ came charging up the street and tried to get into the car, she is now playing around the house as we are unpacking, tomorrow ‘Reina’ is with us for the evening as Daniela is playing at a local bar ‘La Raspita’ on the road down to Sabinillas from the village, she is picking her up after she finishes.

This evening for supper, for a change, we are having ‘Baked Fillets of Salmon’ using both local and farm Salmon, resting on a bed of sliced New Potatoes marinated in Virgin Olive Oil & Tarragon,Parsley, diced Sweet Pimento and with a ‘Macedoine’ of Baby Carrots & Garden Peas and Cauliflower florets.See below before it goes in the oven this evening in our new pan!

On Saturday evening its our usual ‘Entrecote Steak’ and then on Sunday it’s the ‘Chefs’ day off as we are going out to celebrate ‘Saint David’s Day’ at the ‘Cocomo’ Restaurant along the coast road past Estepona on the start of the ‘Golden Mile’ into Marbella, for a late Sunday Lunch.

At the moment the ‘Euro’is at its highest its been in over 5/6 years so here’s hopping that it stays strong as when is close this evening after the markets close world wide that’s what we will get as our Pensions are due into our Spanish Bank account on Sunday and Monday morning! Its still down overall by nearly 30% since we first arrived down here on the Costa Del Sol all those years ago!!

This evening after supper we will settle down to watch another episode on Gibraltar TV ‘GBC’ of the ‘Sky Arts Portrait Painter of the Year’ that we enjoyed last week.

Thoughts for the Day; See above.
