A CRISP AND SUNNY MANILVA ON MONDAY AT THE START OF THE WEEK;

MONDAY 16th/ FRBRUARY 2015.

We had a nice long lie in this morning before one of the street cleaning machines woke us up! After breakfast we had our weekly planning meeting first for the menus, then for the dogs and finally some dates in the diary in the next couple of months.

This evening we are having cold ‘Roast Loin of Pork’ with a fry-up of the leftover vegetables, then tomorrow night we are having ‘Entrecote Steak’ with a Baked Potato, for Wednesday’s night special I’m making my own version of the classic “Lancashire Hotpot” It's also " National Chip Week" so watch this space for the full repertoire - any excuse !!

So here we go - 'Chip Shop Chips' 'Bataille' ( cubed) 'Frites' ( fine) 'Pont Neuf' ( thick) and the classic 'Soufflees' ( crisps) !!

In ‘Doggy World Heaven’ this week ‘Reina’ is here on Tuesday & Thursday, as normal, and ‘Scruffy’ is with us on Saturday for a two day sleep over.

In the diary for this month on the 28th it’s ‘Andalusia Day’ and next month we have some appointments at the hospital, on Saturday the 7th its the 'Carnival' street parade and then at the end of March we are going on a trip to Cordoba to see the ‘Mezquita’ - and at the beginning of April it’s the ‘Semana Santa’ week of religious processions.

We are also going out, for a change, on one Sunday, for our ‘Sunday Lunch’ – we have a couple of places in mind!

The sports update from the weekend;  Barcelona won 5-0 with Messi scoring his 23rd hat trick for the club and Wales beat the Scots 23-26 in the ‘Six Nations Rugby'

Om the weather front its a little crisp today with a light breeze and then its getting a warmer as the week goes on,none of the wet stuff is forecast and the sun is out and the sky is blue.

Later this morning we went for a nice long walk with 'Chispa' around the village; we called first into the 'Stationery Shop' for some paperclips,pins and files, we discoverd that Victor's old restaurant is now a 'Evangelical' Church' ?! We then found the workmen starting to erect the scaffolding around the 'Casa De Torres' at the bottom of our street and finely more work taking place on the 'Roman Oven'Pottery' in the 'Plaza de la Vendimia' See the pictures above;

Last night after our supper - the‘Fondant Potatoes’ were just right,they were one of the very first classic potato dish's that I learned to cook over 55 year ago! – we watched “ Law Abiding Citizen” from 2009 with Jamie Foxx & Gerard Butler in the main roles, in a s thriller based in Philadelphia about revenge – watch it to find out what its all about!!

We are open for bookings !!

Thoughts for the Day; See above.
