A CRISP AND SUNNY MANILVA ON MONDAY AT THE START OF THE WEEK;

MONDAY 23rd/ FEBRUARY 2015.

Just a small lie in this morning as we have no dogs in ‘Doggy World Heaven’ today, ‘Reina’is with us Tuesday & Thursday and ‘Scruffy’ arrives at lunchtime tomorrow for a sleep over and then all day on Wednesday before being picked up in the evening ‘Chispa’ is here playing and we will go for a walk a little later.See sunny Manilva today at lunchtime;

This week it’s all happening in the village from Thursday as the celebrations for ‘Andalusia Day’ on Saturday the 28th start; on Thursday evening there is a children’s Mini ‘Circus’ in the theater, then on Friday evening back in the theater there is a ‘Flamenco’ singer before on Saturday when its all taking place down in the ‘Congress Centre’ down by the sports complex.

It starts with the raising of the flag and the singing of the ‘Andalusia Anthem’ in the morning and then is followed for the rest of the day by choirs singing, dancing by school children, performances by the village Theater group, a band concert by the Manilva Brass Band and later lots of singing, drinking and dancing by all!

The only problem is that the ‘Congress Centre’ is very cold and the sound is not good because it’s built with concrete breeze blocks! They are holding it there this year due to the weather as normally it all takes place on the stage in front of the Town Hall at the top of our street.

The forecast for the weather this week is looking good, so far, this evening we will find out the full details for over the weekend, today it’s clear and sunny with blue skies, and a little brisk but by lunchtime it will be 21/23degs! At night it’s still rather cold and we still need the extra duvet!! Mr. Ian Duncan Smith!!

This morning the first of our Pensions arrived in our Spanish Bank Account and was up on last month again as the ‘Euro’ is staying strong against the ‘Pound’ The other Pensions are due in over next weekend and next Monday – fingers crossed for another good result. Next Sunday it’s ‘Saint David’s Day – Dydd Gwyi Dewi’ so I’m planning to go out for lunch to celebrate “Dewi Sant” in style! Watch the space for where we are going!!

This evening for supper we are having ‘Escalope of Pork Fillet Schnitzels’ using breadcrumbs from the bakery, with them we are having ‘Spaghetti Milanese’ using my famous Tomato Salsa and diamond cut Green Beans, I will top mine with a fried ‘Campo’ Egg,Anchovey Fillets & Capers - ‘Holstein’ style!

On Tuesday its ‘Chicken Wings’ pan fried and served with a Mixed Salad and a Baked Potato then on Wednesday evening we are having Grilled ‘Gammon Steak’ topped with Pineapple along with some ‘Frits’ The Gammon is the other half from Xmas that I’m going to cut up into the steaks. Thursday is ‘find’ something in the fridge night and on Friday, youv’e guessed, it’s a ‘Fish Supper’ before our usual ‘Steak Night’ on Saturday – then on Sunday its the well earned ‘Chef’s’ Day Off!!

Last night we watched a compelling action thriller “ The Internationals” from 2009 with Clive Owen as a Interpol Agent and Naomi Watts as a New York ‘DA’ Watch out for a rather exciting ‘shoot out’ in the famous ‘Guggenheim Museum’!

This evening we will watch the latest news, sport and weather updates before channel hopping; on Tuesday evening on TVE 1 its ‘ Champions League Football when Manchester City welcome Barcelona over the weekend City won 5-0, Liverpool won 0-2 and Everton could only draw 2-2 - again( sorry Big Bri!) Real Madrid also won 0-2.

PS; Not forgetting that it is 'Global Scouse Day' on Saturday also - most important!

Thoughts for the Day; See above.
