A VERY,VERY HOT ND SUNNY MANILVA ON TUESDAY;

TUESDAY 12th/ AUGUST 2014.

I was up first this morning, early as ‘Reina’ was being dropped off first thing, she then comes back to bed with us for a little sleep before we get up for our breakfast as normal a little later; we then had our weekly planning meeting to sort out the menus,shopping,doggy sitting and limousine runs!

We then went for a short walk with Reina and Chispa along Calle Mar on the shaded side of the street as it’s very,very hot in sunny Manilva today, the forecast is for it to get hotter as the week goes on – this year it’s been hotter for longer than the past few years, the night time temperatures in particularly have been higher and the long term forecast is for more of the same! We will survive!!

The menus are fixed ‘Gammon’ steak this evening ‘Entrecote’ steak on Wednesday, leftovers on Thursday and Fish on Friday! We are shopping tomorrow as its our only free day when we can fit it in due to the doggy sitting over the next few day with Reina and Scruffy; then early on Thursday morning I’m taking Lilli to the bus station over in Marbella to catch her plane back to Finland to finalize their business commitments.

Brian’s first day in work went very well, this morning he’s driven over to La Linea to get into the habit of finding somewhere to park and get the timing right; tonight they are joining us for supper, this morning Lilli called on her way to catch the bus down to Sabinillas – its so nice to have then around again and especially back in sunny Manilva!

Last night I spoke to Andy and he said that he was struggling to find the time today on his day off due to family commitments to come around to help me fix the small PC; I then called Den and asked him when he had a moment if he would be able to come and help me – he arrived ten minutes later! So I now know how to manage the picture storage and download it to my large hard drive! Result!!  This means that later I will publish above some of the pictures from the weekend of the ‘Feria Queens’ parade and the ‘Fiesta’ on Sunday. Watch this space – fingers crossed!

So tonight we are having the Gammon steaks cooked on the griddle with Pineapple slices and baby Mushrooms then topped with a fried ‘Campo’ Egg; Garden Peas, Parsley New potatoes and twice-cooked Frits – to start we are having nibbles of Tortilla and local thinly sliced Chorizo, then for dessert there is Ogen/Galia Melon with other fresh fruits.

We will of course be watching some football at the same time as on ‘TVE 1’it’s the “UEFA Super Cup” game over in Cardiff at the ‘Millennium’ stadium (Cardiff City Stadium!)? -  between Real Madrid and Sevilla.

Last night the late film was an epic TV/Film series shown all together in one long episode “ The Incredible Journey of Mary Bryant” from 2005 – based on actual facts – it tells the story of the first prisoners transported to Botany Bay and what subsequently happened, it stars Romola Gari(?) in the tile role with Jack Davenport and Sam Neill – one to watch right up to the end.

PS; No news from the ‘Royal’ household today but no doubt the ‘Queen of Skelton’ will be making an appearance later as she and her consort visit various parts of the area as they take in all the local sights,sounds,parks,museums,art galleries, beaches and dining establishments etc – all photographed by Den and Josie.

Thoughts for the Day; See above.
