A VERY HOT AND SUNNY MANILVA ON FRIDAY AT THE START OF THE WEEKEND;

FRIDAY 15th/ AUGUST 2014.

Well we have just had a ‘Helluva’night for two reasons, first it was the hottest so far this year, everything sticks to you and it gets very balmy with not a breath of fresh air; secondly down on the ‘Rastro’ ground in the valley below the village there was an 12 hour ‘Rave’ party from 6-00pm to 6-00am! Non-stop ‘Drum & Bass’ with a laser light show!! I suppose we should be thankful as it could have been a 24hr!!

Today in Spain it’s a Bank Holiday for the “La Asuncion de la Virgen” – ‘Assumption Day!’ Most of the shops, bars and supermarkets are still open as it’s the height of the holiday season.

This morning ‘Scruffy was dropped off for his sleep over and is being collected on Saturday morning; next week here at ‘Doggy World Heaven’ ‘Reina’ is with us Monday & Thursday and ‘Scruffy’ is not back until a week on Sunday as Adrian & Rose are on holiday – so its going to rather quiet around her for a change with only ‘Chispa’ crashing in during the morning and evenings!

We have just come back from a short walk on the shady side of the street along Calle Mar with ‘Reina & Chispa’ and later we are going up to ‘Bar Rojas’ for a Tapas lunch sat under the ‘Sonbrajo’ with a long cool drink to hand! It’s the ‘Chef’s’ half-day off!!

This evening for supper we are having ‘Fillets of Hake a la Meuniere’ with Parley New Potatoes and Garden Peas, a little homemade ‘Tartar’ sauce on the side. We are back into a little reading again so we have a few books to catch up on, Lee Childs, Dan Brown, Cody McFadden and even Jack Higgins! – To name but a few.

No sign of the ‘Queen of Skelton’ and her consort at the moment; they were spotted up in the hills above Sabinillas/Duquesa at one time yesterday – today down in Sabinillas in the square it’s a ‘Tourist’ day with music, singing and dancing and later a ‘Foam’ Party on the beach! So perhaps she might make an appearance later for her adoring public?! On her balcony overlooking sunny Manilva her washing has been hung out to dry, no doubt by Den, this is where she waves to her loyal citizens in the village!! And we ‘wave’ back!!

This evening after supper we will catch up with all the news, sport and weather details before finding a good film to watch.

PS; I’ve resisted any sports news at the moment but it all could change as the football ‘Kicks Off’ over in the ‘Premiere League’ in the UK tomorrow! Oh and yes the 'La Liga' starts here in Spain next weekend !!

Thoughts for the Day; See above.
