A VERY HOT AND SUNNY MANILVA ON TUESDAY;

TUESDAY 19th/AUGUST 2014.

Just a little lie in this morning as it was little cooler during the night as a slight breeze had got up; we had our usual breakfast of toast, tea and fresh fruit, I start with a Weetabix, then we had our weekly planning meeting to sort out the shopping,menus,dog sitting and events/happenings etc.

Last night we had a lovely supper on the terrace around at Den & Josie’s, great company, great conversation and great friends for life – thanks to you both! They are joining us for supper on Thursday evening so we are bringing forward our usual Friday ‘Fish’ supper; we are going to have “Fillets of Poached Hake ‘Duglere’ ”with Saffron New Potatoes and Green Beans and Broccoli. Starters and Dessert to be arranged later.

Last night Den passed on the latest book that he had been reading “Lee Childs’ – the first ‘Jack Reacher’ story and also very kindly offered to leave his new tri-pod with me to practice using with my new camera, he has another one back home in Skelton!

We have also provisionally arranged to drop Den off at the border next Monday morning as he is flying home from Gibraltar, then on Tuesday the following week Josie is flying home from Malaga so we proposing to take her to the Bust Station in Estepona! We are really going to miss them as they won’t be back until sometime early next year!

They are out on Friday evening at a “Dracula Extravaganza” down in one of the parks in Sabinillas and then on Saturday evening here in sunny Manilva,a week later then advertised, there is in Calle Mar a “ Noche De Embrujo ” which is advertised as ‘Live Manilva with the Five Senses’ – ‘ Performances and Dancing ’ – we shall see, all will be revealed?! See the posters below.

This means that we are going down on Wednesday morning for a quick shop and also to go to the bank as the machine in the village bank has still not been fixed, I’ve also got to pay the ‘Road Fund Tax’ (41 euros!) on the car and Lumy! We are still doing the main shop on Friday as well as our other usual spots for flowers, papers etc.

On the dog sitting front ‘Reina’ is here on Thursday for the day and ‘Scruffy’ is with us sometime over the weekend tbc;

Tonight we are having “Escalope of Chicken Breast’pan-fried in Breadcrumbs with my rich Tomato salsa on the side and Diamond cut Green Beans; tomorrow night we will find something different when we shop, then on Friday it will be Omelet of choice, and an early ‘Entrecote’ steak and chips on Saturday.

So our quiet week is quiet no longer!

PS; The “Vuelta a Esapana” starts on Saturday with the opening time-trial stage taking place in ‘Jerez de la Frontera; both Froome & Contador have recovered so it’s going to be a rather exciting tour!

Thoughts for the Day; See above.
