A VERY HOT AN SUNNY MANILVA ON MONDAY AT THE START OF THE WEEK;

MONDAY 11^th/ AUGUST 2014.

We needed a lie in this morning after a ‘Helluva’ day here in sunny Manilva after partying at the ‘High Summer Festival’ in Calle Mar yesterday! We took things easy in the morning and went out in the early afternoon; both stages were set up, the one outside the Town Hall had a small ‘Samba/Rumba Trio’ and on the top stage it was the ‘School of Music Professors Band’ – no decision to make then, we chose the large band!

Yesterday was officially the hottest so far in sunny Manilva as the mid-afternoon temperatures reached 35/37degs with no breeze! As we left the house it hit you in your face, luckily we still had a little shade to make it up to the top, along Calle Mar you could not breath, even the sun canopies made no difference!

So we found a good table in the shade outside ‘Bar Ocana’ for a change, the lady of the house looked after us very well with the largest drinks ever, my ‘Cuba Libre’was a 4x- measure – I drank them out of Bacardi later! As usual everything was late so the village band did not start until 5-00pm at which time I was feeling rather happy with myself, Brian & Lilli came along and joined us as well.

I took some pictures but I’m still not able to post them as my picture disk is full, I’m waiting for my ‘IT’ consultant ‘Andy’ to call in and my second assistant ‘IT’ coordinator is on standby ( Den!) to help if necessary. Keep watching this space!

PS; As you will have noticed I have been corrected with my use of ‘Apostrophe’s’ above by the ‘Professor Of English Grammer-rtd’( Josie!) so I’m! very grateful for her help and guidance in this matter of great importance to my many world wide readers!

Speaking of Den, in my official ‘Court Circular’ today I have to report the “Queen of Skleton’was overcome at one stage yesterday when out in the village after her Paella lunch and had to retire to her suite/apartment/bed in the afternoon due to the extreme hot conditions and lack of wind! She is fine this morning and ready to face another week here in sunny Manilva with her loyal citizens!

After the band finished its first spot we retired for a late afternoon and needed ‘Siesta’ before we set off after a little light snack for the late evening’s festivities back at ‘Bar Ocana’ – this time on the sweet dark rum! Brian & Lilli came back out to play also as we listened and danced the night away, no dancing for Brenda just yet! So it was a very enjoyable ‘Helluva’ day for all.

The menus have changed as we are having the Chicken Wings this evening then tomorrow Brian & Lilli are possible joining us for the Gammon Streaks. 

Brian has started his job today over in Gibraltar,Lilli dropped him off earlier this morning and has just brought all her washing as their machine is not working; we wish Brian all the very best as he starts a new adventure with Lilli back here in sunny Manilva!

We have had another booking this morning for later in the week,’Scruffy’is coming for a sleep-over on Wednesday s well as the weekend so that means that we have the dogs from tomorrow until Sunday morning here in ‘Doggy World Heaven’

I’m! now going to do a quick sports news update; Over in the USA Rory Mcllroy won the ‘US PGA’ golf championship at Vallhalla and Marc Marquez made it 10 out of 10 wins in the ‘Motor GP’ in Indianapolis! Tsonga beat Federer in the’ Rogers Cup Tennis’ final in Toronto and Arsenal beat Manchester City, who did not play very well, in the ‘Community Shield’ at Wembley – 3-0! Oh and yes Liverpool beat Borussia Dortmund at Anfield in a friendly 4-0!!

So this evening after supper we will catch up with all the news. sport and weather details for the week.
