A VERY ' FRESH' AND SUNNY MANILVA ON MONDAY AT THE START OF THE WEEK.

MONDAY 13th/ JANUARY 2020.

I was up very early this morning to welcome back little ‘ Miss Bella’ for the day, she as usual, shot upstairs on to our bed and joined us for a little lie in, she is back tomorrow.

After freshening up as I was on the breakfast rota I had my favourite ‘ Toasted Crispy Smoked Bacon Butty ‘ – smothered in ‘HP’ Brown sauce – open on brown for Brenda with some of her favourite sliced Baby Mushrooms seared in the Bacon juices with a knob of Butter, some of which made it into my butty also! Mugs of hot/strong ‘PG Tips’ Tea helped to wash them down!!

As we were getting ourselves sorted we were as usual listening to the ‘ Andrew Charles Breakfast Show’ on “ Castle Radio FM 89.2 & Online on the WWW “ as this week’s ‘Music Quiz’ came on for the first time, a 12 second track, Brenda started singing the song and I ‘Googled’ the main words and got the Band, it was ‘ Bread’ with David Gates, with “ Make It With You “ so ‘ Lady’ Brenda is in the Friday draw, again!

This morning has started clear & sunny, the clouds have cleared and the sky is now blue, with a very light breeze, so by lunchtime it’s due to reach 15 degs+ overnight down to a cold 8 degs, the rest of the week and over the coming weekend is mainly staying the same, hovering in the mid ‘ teens’ as the wind picks up a little, staying sunny & clear, then going a little warmer by Friday ( 17 degs+)

Next week we are in for a colder patch as the next ‘Atlantic’ front comes in, bringing with it  ‘ gale-force ‘ winds with ‘RAIN’ and the overall temperatures dropping down to just 13 degs and overnight as low as only 3/4 degs by next Tuesday, the lowest we have had down here on the ‘ Costa Del Sol’ in over 15 years ! Watch this space.

On the sports front this weekend; Manchester City won 1- 6 and Real Madrid won the ‘ Spanish Super Cup’ - over in Saudi Arabia - on penalties!

This morning  over on the River Mersey the “ Royal Fleet Auxiliary Fort Victoria “ left the ‘ Cammel Lairds’  shipyard after a major re-fit, on her way to her home port.

For our supper this evening we are having ‘ Grilled Gammon Steaks’ garnished with seared Pineapple Rings & Baby Mushrooms, then topped with ‘ Campo’ Fried Eggs! Served with Garden Peas and triple-cooked ‘ Chips’ Tomorrows supper is still TBC, on Wednesday we are going to have a  “ Beef & Vegetable Stew with Herb Dumplings “ The Menus’ for the rest of the week and over the weekend are yet to be agreed, watch this space.

This afternoon/evening we will be catching up with all the ‘ Quiz Shows that we follow, last night we caught the first new episode of the excellent series ‘Vera’ – this evening it’s the return of the award winning ‘Cold Feet’ – at the same time over on BBC TV it’s the second two-part episode of ‘ Silent Witness’

Thoughts for the Day; See above.
