A VERY ' CRISP' & SUNNY MANILVA ON ' BANK HOLIDAY MONDAY AT THE START OF THE WEEK.

MONDAY 6th/ JANUARY 2020. “ THREE KINGS DAY – DIA DE LOS REYES “

We had another nice, long, lie in this morning as the village is even quieter than normal as it’s a ‘ Bank Holiday’ here in Spain. After freshening up we had a nice breakfast of a ‘Toasted Crispy Smoked Bacon & Sausage Butty’ – smothered in ‘ HP’ Brown sauce, open on brown for Brenda, using the left-over’s from yesterday ‘ Sunday Brunch’ – with a little ‘ Campo’ scrambled Eggs on the side! Mugs of hot/strong tea helped to wash them down!

We had a surprise guest join us for the ‘ Sunday Brunch’ – our very dear friend ‘ Big Brian’ – we had asked him, but when we realized that it was the Liverpool v Everton game later in the afternoon we thought that he would be in one of his ‘ haunts’ to watch it with the local ‘ Blues’ gang!

So we had a very enjoyable afternoon, the ‘ Brunch’ was just right, especially the ‘ Hash Browns’ (Frozen) – as we had a good old catch up with all his news, he stayed and watched the match on ‘BBC TV’ –as Liverpool put out a very young/reserve team against the ‘ Men’ of Everton! Brenda went up to ‘ Bar Rojas – Sol Vida Pizzeria’ and got a table outside, to watch the parade, she came back down and told me the parade was on its way, it wasn’t, so I came back down to the house, as I entered I asked Brian the score, he said ‘ 0-0 ‘ just as Liverpool scored the winning wonder goal!! ( 18-year-old Curtis Jones!)

We then all went back up to catch the parade along ‘ Calle Mar’ – as you can see below on yesterday’s Blog!

This morning it’s clear and ‘ Fresh’ . the sky is now cloudless and blue, there is a very light breeze so by lunchtime it’s forecast to reach 16 degs+ - overnight still only 9 degs+ - the week ahead is looking the same, staying dry & sunny and a little ‘ Crisp’ -  hovering in the mid ‘ teens’ - sadly by Saturday the ‘ Wet-Stuff’ could hit us as the next ‘ Atlantic’ front comes in, bringing with it more rain & wind, over the weekend and into next week, sadly it’s going to be a little damp/wet when we are out on Sunday with our dear friend ‘ Joyce Baby’! Watch this space.

In ‘ Doggy World Heaven’ this week we only have ‘ Scruffy’ with us for a sleep-over on Thursday evening, no doubt ‘ Chispa’ will be in & out now that she’s back to normal, little ‘Miss Bella’ is due back with in another week’s time when Leah returns to work, watch this space.

As usual on Friday I will be back out on my travels, down to Sabinillas for the weekly shopping, ‘ fingers-crossed’ that we have the car back from the garage after all the repairs and passing it’s re-taken ‘ITV – MOT’ test!

For our supper this evening we are having ‘ Grilled Brochettes of Turkey’ ( from Mercadona! ) which I add Baby Mushrooms & Shallots too, served on a bed of ‘Basmati Rice’ with a pool of Tomato salsa and accompanied with finely sliced ‘ French’ Green Beans. The ‘ Menu’s for the rest of the week are still ‘ TBC’ Watch this space.

Yesterday, later on the evening, we made contact with Sandra & Bill, over in Everett, Ontario, Canada, as we had arranged a ‘ Skype’ video call, a little later than normal, as they were watching the ‘Ice Hockey’ as the ‘Canadian’ junior team won, for the third time, is six years, the ‘ World Championships’ in the ‘ Czech Republic’ – as they beat Russia in the final 4-3!

We had a good catch-up with all the folks news, this year is going to be a ‘ Year of Change’ as Sandra retires at the end of September and they have plans on the ‘ Home-Front’ also, we wish them a very ‘ Healthy, Wealthy & Prosperous New Year ‘ – it’s going to be  a ‘ Helluva’ adventure, watch this space.

This afternoon/evening we will be catching up with all the ‘Quiz Shows’ that we follow; ‘ Countdown, Tipping Point, The Chase, Pointless, Egg Heads, Mastermind, Only Connect & University Challenge’ – then later, as usual, channel hopping to find something to watch, over the next couple of weeks it’s the return of old favourites ‘ Cold Feet & Line of Duty ‘

Thoughts for the Day;  See above.
