A STILL RATHER COOL & OVERCAST SUNNY MANILVA ON SUNDAY.

SUNDAY 5th/ JANUARY 2020.

We had a nice lie in this morning and no we didn’t oversleep! After freshening up we had our regular light breakfast of fresh fruit (sliced Banana) with toast & tea, Brenda then popped along to the local ‘Bakery/ Supermarket’ shop, in ‘ Calle Mar’ - to pick up our traditional ‘ Rosca de Reyes’ cake!

This evening we are going up to ‘ Bar Rojas – Sol Vida Pizzeria’ to watch the annual ‘ Three Kings Day – Dia de los Reyes ‘ parade along ‘ Calle Mar’ as Gaspa, Melchor & Baltasar’  wish all the children a ‘Happy Fiesta’ and throw them Caramelo’s/Candy sweets!

See the pictures above later!

We have just spoken to our very dear friend ‘ Joyce Baby’ up in ‘ Alhaurin el Grande ‘ and have arranged to meet her next Sunday, a week today, she is coming down her to see us this time, we were going to take her to ‘ Finca Thai Fushion’ for their excellent ‘ Sunday Roast Lunch’ as they also do a rather special ‘ Nut Roast’ – but sadly they close  tomorrow for a month’s holiday! For ‘Plan B ‘ - watch this space.

This morning has started rather cool, grey & overcast, with a stiff breeze, so by lunchtime it’s only forecast to reach 15 degs+ with the sun breaking through with patchy clouds, with the chance, sadly, of some of the ‘ Wet-Stuff’ hitting us, hopefully not when the parade is due along ‘ Calle Mar’ at 6-30 pm ish!

Next week is now looking a lot more settled with sunshine mostly, a few patchy clouds hanging around, with a light breeze, so it will stay in the mid ‘ teens’ at around 15/16 degs – overnight down to only 8/9 degs, if not cooler! There is still the chance of the ‘ Wet-Stuff’ in the air but next weekend is looking dry, at the moment, when we will be out & about on the ‘ Costa Del Sol’! Watch this space.

Just a quick update on the football results;  Manchester City won 4-1 over in the ‘ Emirates FA Cup’ third round, over here Real Madrid won 0-2 but sadly Barcelona could only manage a 2-2 draw in the ‘ Catalan Derby’ game, so they are both equal on points at the top of ‘La Liga’ – Barcelona lead on goal difference by 2!!

At lunchtime, a little later, we are having a ‘ Sunday Brunch’ for a change, with Grilled English Pork Sausages & English Smoked Back Bacon, Pan-Seared Button Mushrooms & Plum Tomatoes, Fried ‘ Hash Browns’ and sautéed thick-cut slices of Baked Potato, shallow-fried local sliced Chorizo, with ‘ Campo’ Fried Eggs and finally ‘ Heinz Baked Beans’!  To start with a glass of freshly squeezes local ‘Orange Juice ‘ and accompanied with lots of Buttered Toast.

‘Comfort Food to Die For ‘ !!

While I have been typing/posting today’s ‘Blog’ I have been, as usual’ listening to the ‘Pete Black Retro Roadshow’ on “ Castle Radio FM 89.2 & Online on the WWW “ as the first ‘Film Quiz’ of 2020 came on, it was ‘ Grease’ from 1978! So we are in the monthly draw again!!

Last night we caught the second back to back episodes of the very gripping Norwegian crime drama ( with sub-tiles) “ Wisting “ as the homicide detective is challenged by the most difficult case of his entire career, as he investigates a serial killer, one not to miss, catch it if you can! The body count is rising all the time – 14/16 – and now his daughter has gone missing !

Later this evening we have arranged after we come back from the parade a ‘ Skype’ video call with Sandra & Bill, over Everett, Ontario, Canada, the first in 2020, as Sandra has had a very hard/terrible week in work, they are looking forward to the weekend off, so we will have a good catch up with all their news.

Thoughts for the Day;  See above.
