A RATHER COLD & GREY, BUT STILL DRY, SUNNY MANILVA ON MONDAY AT THE START OF THE WEEK.

MONDAY 20th/ JANUARY 2020.

I was up very early this morning to welcome back little ‘ Miss Bella’ with us, in ‘ Doggy World Heaven’ for the day, she’s back tomorrow and now also on Wednesday, she is also booked in for a long week’s holiday at the end of March, she, as usual, shot upstairs and jumped onto our bed, full of the joys of spring!

We then all had a little further lie in before freshening up, I was on the breakfast rota I had my favourite ‘Toasted Crispy Smoked Bacon Butty’ – smothered in’ HP’ Brown sauce – open on brown for Brenda, with sliced Baby Mushrooms, seared in the Bacon juices with a knob of Butter, some of which made it into my Butty! Mugs of hot/strong tea helped to watch them down, as we got another week on the go, down on the ‘ Costa Del Sol’

I then popped along to our local Bank in ‘Calle Mar’ to pay the monthly electricity bill, which Brenda checks against her readings/forecasts.

This morning has started the week, not as forecast, as it’s, at the moment, dry, but with a grey and cloudy sky, there is a stiff breeze, so by lunchtime it will only reach 14 degs+ but with still the threat of the ‘ Wet-Stuff’ hitting us, at any time, as the cold, wet & windy ‘ Atlantic’ front come in, it’s staying the same for all of the week and over the coming weekend, with moderate to heavy ‘RAIN’  all the time, with stiffer winds, making it a lot cooler, down to 12/13 degs – overnight as low as 4/5 degs – the coldest spell that we have had since we arrived down here in sunny Manilva back in 2006!  Watch this space.

Just a very quick update of the football results from yesterday; Barcelona won 1-0 ( Messi!) but the ‘ Match of Day’ was at Anfield as Liverpool beat Manchester Utd, 2-0 with a terrific headed goal from Van Dijk and a wonder goal by Mo Salah, when Alisson’s injury-time goal-kick, direct to Salah, won the game and took Liverpool 16 points ahead at the top of the ‘Premiere League’ with a game in hand!

See below some pictures of a rather special and unusual ‘ Red Sunsets’ over North Wales, yesterday evening, over Colwyn Bay & Llandudno, it reminded us of the sunsets that we used to see, over the Irish Sea, from the windows of the ‘ Horizon Suite Restaurant’ at the ‘ Hotel Seventy Degrees’ on the cliffs above Colwyn Bay, we had the Irish Linen, tablecloths and napkins dyed, to match, in the peach & apricot colours!

For our supper this evening we are having ‘Cold Roast Chicken’ with the leftover Vegetables & Potatoes, on Tuesday it’s ‘Find Something in the Deep Freeze Day’ – on Wednesday we are having a ‘ Lambs Liver & Pigs in Blankets Onion Casserole’ – with Brenda’s famous ‘ Mashed Potato ‘ – Thursday will be our favourite ‘Grilled Chicken Wings’ and on Friday a ‘ Fish Supper’ before our usual ‘ Steak Night’ on Saturday, Sunday is still ‘TBC’ Watch this space.

We will take things very easy this afternoon/evening, I’m still not feeling 100% - in fact I’m still very sore/stiff and uncomfortable, especially at night, in bed, what I need is a dip in a ‘Hot Tub’ – sadly, at the moment Sandra’s, over in Everett, Ontario, Canada, is not available, see below!

After supper we will settle down to watch the next two-part episodes of the excellent  ‘ Silent Witness’ – the second is tomorrow night, then catch the second episode of the award winning ‘ Cold Feet’ on the ‘ITV Hub’ as it’s on at the same time!

Thoughts for the Day;  See above.
