Well we had a longer lie in this morning as
it’s a local ‘Bank Holiday’ in the village after the ‘ Feria & Festivals ‘
down in Castillo de la Duquesa’ over the past few days, the village is very
quiet, no deliveries, no workers chattering and of course no children playing
out, the church bells have not started yet!
Before breakfast Brenda took ‘ Chico’ out
for his first walk of the day, we then had our ‘ Weetabix, fresh fruit( Banana)
toast & tea, we then planned out week ahead out, tomorrow morning we now
have to go across to the Hospital past Marbella for a check up/review with
Brenda’s ‘Kidney’ Consultant, ‘Chico’ is going to be looked after by Rose in
the morning, he will be able to play with ‘ Scruffy’ who is then joining us for
a sleep over on Tuesday evening, as Adrian & Rose have hospital
appointments as well, after ‘Chico’ has been collected on Tuesday evening, we
are going to miss him, he’s back with us for another weekend in a few weeks
time. ‘Reina’ is back with us on Wednesday & Thursday, no doubt ‘ Chispa’
as usual will be in & out all the time.
See the picture below of ‘ Chico’ on the
balcony of the ‘ Chill-Out’ room taken in the morning sun & air this
morning.
Early yesterday evening when we checked the
car for oil & water it was not blocked in, I took the chance and maneuvered
it out from the small square, for the first time in a month, I shot down to the
garage in Sabinillas and topped up the petrol and then jet-washed the car which
was covered in Sahara Sand, when I came back up to the village I was very lucky
and found a place to park in Calle Mar opposite ‘Bar Castillo’

This means that we will have no problems in
the morning when we set off to the hospital, when we return it will not be so
simple, the small square could be full and the village will be packed with all
the Council workers cars, watch this space.
We have a glorious start to the week, the
sun was out early and the sky is clearing, there is a little breeze making it
rather pleasant, it’s due to reach 27/28 degs+ - overnight its hovering on the
20 degs mark, the rest of the week is staying the same, over the coming weekend
there is a small chance of some of the wet stuff on Saturday but then the
following week is going to be another scorcher, watch this space.
Just a quick sports results update; Lewis Hamilton won the ‘British Grand Prix’
for the fifth time, the fourth consecutive time, Roger Federer won the final of
the ‘Men’s Tennis’ at Wimbledon, a record breaking eighth time and Chris Froome
retained the race leaders ‘ Yellow’ jersey in the ‘ Tour De France’
At lunchtime as we were out walking the dog we bumped into Mano,Anna, Carlos & Tom sat outside ' Bar Castillo' - we joined then for a nice cool drink, later Andy, our old friend, came along with three of his friends,as we were leaving I took the picture below of Mano & Carlos shearing their sun glasses, they can only afford one pair!

After our weekly menu planning meeting this
morning we are having this evening ‘ Grilled Gammon Steaks’ topped with a ‘
Campo’ Fried Egg, Garden Peas and twice-cooked ‘ Stringfellow’ Frits, tomorrow
its find something in the deep-freeze day and then on Wednesday it’s going to
be a ‘ Chicken Casserole’ – on Thursday it’s the ‘ Chef’s’ night off so we are
going up to ‘Bar Castillo’ for a Tapas supper and then will go and check out
the ‘ Flamenco & Bulls Concert’ down
in the ‘ Casa De Las Torres’ Cultural centre. The weekend menus are still TBC,
watch this space.
After supper last night we caught the next
episode of ‘ Poldark’ – all the action this week was back in Cornwall, lots of
toads invaded the bad guys pond, the rescued Doctor was suffering from ‘PTSD’
and would rather read a book then go to bed with his new wife, the young
brother ended up in jail and was going to be hanged, he’s was saved when his
young girl friend agreed to marry the creepy Vicar, who likes sucking the local
prostitutes feet! Will there be a happy ending in a few weeks time, watch this
space.
Thoughts for the Day; See above.
