I was up early this morning to welcome back
little princess ‘ Reina’ for the day, she’s here with us in ‘ Doggy World
Heaven’ for 4 days this week, she then went onto her duvet for a sleep, we then
went back to bed to try and catch up with ours, we have had a long, sticky, sleepless
night as it didn’t drop below 22 degs, we have all the fans on around the house
but are only just managing to keep on top of things, it’s unusually hot for the
time of the year, with August to follow!
After freshening up we had our usual breakfast
of fresh fruit ( Banana ) toast & tea, we then sorted our week ahead out,
we have no plans or appointments, on Thursday it’s the ‘ Chef’s night off so we
are going along to ‘Bar Castillo’ for a light supper before going down to the ‘
Casa De Los Torres, the Cultural Centre, for the ‘ Flamenco Fusion Concert ‘ I
will be out on my travels on Friday morning down to Sabinillas, on the bus, for
the weekly shopping.
The sun was out, as you would expect, first
thing this morning and the sky is bright blue, there is no breeze so it’s going
to be another hot one, hovering on the 30 degs+ mark and for the rest of the
week also, watch this space.
For supper this evening we are having the
rest of the ‘Smoked Chicken & Three Green Bean Risotto’ – cold, with a nice
Mixed Salad, the rest of the weeks menus are still TBC, one day at the time,
last night we had a very enjoyable supper with Dean & Donna, catching up
with their travels, they have lived and worked all over the World including New
Zealand and in the USA, down in the deep South, we enjoyed their company and
are looking forward to meeting up with them, again, soon, Dean tells us, and Donna confirmed, that
he’s a bit of a ‘dab hand’ in the kitchen, watch this space!
Just a quick update with the sports
results; Chris Froome retained the ‘ Yellow’ jersey as the Colombian ‘Rigoberto
Uran’ won an action packed stage nine of the ‘ Tour De France’ On the second
climb of the day Geraint Thomas, Froome’s team mate and right-hand man crashed
on the decent and broke his collarbone, then on the final decent of the day,
the Australian rider, ‘ Richie Porter’ also crashed, at high speed on a very dangerous
and wet/dry road and suffered a fractured collarbone and pelvis, he used to be
Froome’s main team mate, this year he’s in another team and was one of the
favourites to win the race. It’s a rest day today. The Austrian Grand Prix was
rather boring, Lewis Hamilton was 4th - today Wimbledon starts the second
week, when it starts to get serious and exciting, watch this space.
Thoughts for the Day; See above.
