A OVERCAST & GREY SUNNY MANILVA, ESTEPONA AND MARBELLA;

WEDNESDAY 9th/ DECEMBER 2015.

I was up before dawn this morning and took ‘Barny’ for his first walk of the day, we then grabbed a quick cup of tea and shot out on our travels across to the Hospital past Marbella; my ‘Prostrate Consultant’ smiled as we went in and said ‘ its good news’ – the results of my various tests are fine and I’m on a six month review next June! RESULT!!

We then headed back along the coast and on the way went on a ‘Recce’ to find the site of the ‘Cocomo’ Restaurant, it was good job as it took us a little time and a few attempts to finally find it, we spoke to the Owner who was outside and confirmed our booking for Sunday for our ‘Xmas Lunch-Staff Party’ – we have asked Lee & Daniela to join us so they are trying to find a doggy sitter to look after ‘Reina’!!

Our next port of call was in Estepona at ‘La Casa’ for some extra decorations before I dropped Brenda off in the centre of the town so she could go to the Jewellers and have our Carriage Clock ( 45 years old!) repaired as well as her new Ear Rings which need some attention. On the way we also checked out all the main hotels to see which ones are open so as we can call in and have a nice glass of Cava on the way to our ‘Staff Party’!

As we arrived home ‘Chispa’ was waiting for us and is now playing around my feet up in the office; its still overcast & grey this morning and the sun is struggling to break through at the moment; the rest of the week and over the weekend is staying calm & dry. It’s now officially ‘crisp’ and the temperatures are hovering on the 20 degs mark – at night its dropping nearly to single figures, sadly no ‘Winter Fuel Allowance ‘ this year – it usually arrived in our account, at the start of the month - thanks to Mr Ian Duncan Smith not this year! ( 250 pounds!)

At lunchtime in the post we had our first Xmas Cards, both the sisters over in England, who are always first and one from 'Fred Astaire' ( Den!) and 'Ginger Rogers' ( Josie !) up North in Skelton! Thanks!!

This evening for our supper we are having ‘Grilled Gammon Steak’ with fresh Pineapple & topped with a ‘Campo’ fried Egg, Garden Peas and some twice-cooked ‘Frits’

We will then channel hop and find something to watch; last night we watched the ‘Royal Variety Performance’ from the Albert Hall, it was not very good, to start the singer who sang ‘God save the Queen’ winked at Prince Harry !!  The various acts were all selling their latest records, very commercial, Kylie Minogue had a very unflattering Xmas costume, the three ‘Comedians’ were not very funny, the Theatre spot, was ‘Mary Poppins’ was terrible and finally at the end ‘Sir’ Elton John sang two unknown songs, looked overweight, and his band looked like they had come out of the old peoples home for the evening, old men with long hair, the drummer had white gloves on with a suit & tie and the chap on the Tambourine was hilarious!! The only good part was the tribute to Cilla Black made by Jimmy Tarbuck with some classic old footage of her singing.

PS, See below a small selection of the ‘Parranda’ Bands going around the village yesterday for over 8 hours, they ended up, both of them, in our street, outside & inside ‘Bodagon Andaluz’ singing and playing their hearts out!!

PPS, Just posted on Facebook are lots of pictures of all the family over in Australia on Sunday at Lyn's 80th birthday party at a local hotel, See the picture below of Jack & Lyn.

Thoughts for the Day; See above.
