A OVERCAST & GREY DAY IN SUNNY MANILVA, FOR NOW !

TUESDAY 8th / DECEMBER 2015.

I was up early to welcome back ‘Reina’ for the day, she arrived in her new, very smart, Red Fleece followed a minute later by ‘Scruffy’ with his new walking collar, meanwhile ‘Barny’ stays on his duvet in the lounge until its time to go out; we then took him & ‘Scruffy’ for their first walk of the day, meanwhile little princess ‘Reina’ retired to her new duvet up in the office!

When we returned it was breakfast time for all of us, ‘ Reina’ will only have Brown toast with Butter,’Scruffy’ is not bothered first thing in the morning and ‘Barny’ has his main meal of the day which is a special pellet meal mixed with water ie. ‘Gruel’! We were on our regular breakfast of ‘Weetabix’ Toast & Tea with some fresh fruit.

It was then time to get started on the Xmas Tree, the new Xmas Lights & decorations before we put the three Xmas Santa’s out on the balconies, Brenda is in charge so I have retired to the office with the dogs to keep out of her way!

Its overcast and grey this morning with just a little breeze, the forecast for the rest of the day and also the week is for more of the same with the sun braking through later in the day and the temperatures reaching 19/ 20 degs, about normal for this time of the year and thankfully no rain!

For our supper this evening we are having ‘Escalope of Chicken Breast’ pan fried in foaming Lime Butter with a dash of ‘Balsamic’ Vinegar, whole Green Beans & sautéed thick-cut slices of Baked Potato, then tomorrow its going to be ‘Grilled Gammon Steak’ with Pineapple  topped with a ‘Campo’ fried Egg and Garden Peas and of course some twice-cooked ‘Frits’ Thursday we are out on our trip to Malaga so we will have a light supper when we return, Friday its ‘Fish Night’ and then on Saturday we will have a nice steak; on Sunday we are out for our ‘Xmas Lunch – Staff Party’ at the new ‘Cocomo’ Watch this space.

The new ‘ Xmas Parranda’  band has just been passed our house and is setting off around the village, all our local neighbours and friends are in it, they play the traditional tunes and songs; its a Bank Holiday today for the ‘Immaculate Conception’ so the school is closed and everybody is off work, hopefully I shall post the pictures later after Daniela helps me this evening fix the camera/ computer system! Watch this space. See below, more tomorrow!

At lunchtime we went for a walk with the dogs and there was another 'Parranda' band setting off with more of our neighbours, at same time setting off fireworks! On the way back I bumped into a nice couple, Mark & Beryl, who are staying at the 'Manilva Green Aparthotel' - they are originally from Bolton and now live in Alicante, Nice to meet you and have a chat!

This evening after supper we are going to watch on ‘ITV1’ the ‘Royal Variety Performance’ which we have not see for many years, last night just before supper Mano called in and fixed our small ‘Beer’ fridge ( most important!) which had started to make a noise, he took off the back and cleaned and oiled all the parts and now its back to normal and fully working again! Thanks Mano, the ‘ Chilled Beers’ are on us!!

Thoughts for the Day; See above.
