A CRISP AND OVERCAST SUNNY MANILVA ON FRIDAY AT THE START OF THE WEEKEND;

FRIDAY 11TH/ DECEMBER 2015.

We were up early this morning and grabbed a quick breakfast before ‘Reina’ arrived for a sleep over; we then shot out down to Sabinillas for our weekly shopping, the first call was the ‘Ferreteria’s’ for some‘Super Glue’( broken handle on the oven door!) light bulbs and a new washing line.

Next after collecting the local newspapers we hit ‘Mercadona’ for our main shop; we then called into the English Butchers for some ‘Goodies’ before going along the promenade for plants and flowers, on the way back I topped up the car with petrol and gave it a quick jet wash ready for our lunch out on Sunday.

                                              “ CASTEL RADIO FM 89.2 “ NEWSFLASH;

While we were out we called into to see Andrew at the studios in Castillo de la Duquesa, he’s fighting on for the time being so has asked me to do a regular spot on Sunday morning’s with my ‘Classic Music Show’! This means that my Radio presenters career has been resurrected!! Back by popular demand – watch this space; 'Sir' Malcolm is back!!

After unloading back at the house I departed up to the office/studio to catch up with the Blog, as you can see. Later I going to get tonight’s supper set up, we are having for a change ‘Baked Dorada – Gilt Head Bream’ resting on a bed of savoury Onions, assorted Peppers & sliced Potatoes with lots of herbs and fresh Lemon, served with Baby new Potatoes in their Skins and Garden Peas.

                                                “ GENERAL ELECTION NEWS UPDATE”

On Sunday the 20th December its the General Election here in Spain ( every 4 years) This time it will be very different as there are two new parties to set the old system upside down; after the election 4 years ago they arrived on the political scene, since democracy started here in around 1975 after the death of Franco it was a two party system with the ‘PP’ Conservative Party, the Government now, the ‘PSOE’ Labour Party and to a lesser extent the ‘IU’ Communist Party!

So now we have the ‘Podemos – We Can’ Party and the ‘Ciudadanos – Citizen Party’ They have made giant inroads at the Regional elections earlier this year, here in Spain there are 17 Autonemous  region’s self governed by a President and Parliament, in all the major cities they by going into coalition with the other parties took over the running of the local Councils. So its going to be a very exciting and important election and could see a possible change in Government. Watch this space.

PS, A couple of pictures from Lyn's 80th birthday party last Sunday;
