A CLEAR & CRISP SUNNY MANILVA ON TUESDAY;

TUESDAY 15th/ DECEMBER 2015.

We had a little lie in this morning as ‘Reina’ was not due until after 9-00am,the workmen on the site were in early as usual and commenced to make a lot of noise including playing their radio at full blast! The foreman repaired the hole in the wall up in the office yesterday and also filled in a couple of cracks around the doors in the kitchen, for Brenda, he also confirmed that they would re-paint our old roof terrace when the second coat of white paint goes on the walls above us! A small RESULT!!

Before our regular breakfast Brenda shot down to the local post office to post some late Xmas cards, we had more arrive yesterday, thanks to all our family and friends all around the World; the sun is out all ready and its clearing slowly, by lunchtime its going to reach 21/22 degs with more to come over the next few days, the only downside is that at  night its dropping to 9 degs, we have put the winter duvet on over the weekend and during the evening we now have the heater on in the lounge, please note Mr.Ian Duncan Smith, the ‘Minister’ responsible for cancelling our winter fuel allowance!

This evening we are having for our supper ‘Calves Liver’ dusted in flour and seared ‘Pink’ on a hot griddle plate, to accompany it I’m grilling some English Pork Sausages, crispy Spanish Smoked Bacon, local Button Mushrooms & Tomatoes and Onion rings, Brenda has some local fresh ‘Alcelgas’ that our neighbour Anna passed in yesterday, so she cooks it with the local Cabbage, we are also having a local Baked Potato on the side.

We have decided to have for our ‘Fish Supper’ on Friday my now famous ‘Fish Pie’ for a change, which of course is topped with Brenda’s famous Mashed Potato; I’m going to make it with Hake, Cod, Salmon,  Prawn & local Mussels along with my secret seasonings & ingredient’s! Next week on the Menu we are going to have a ‘Beef Stew/ Casserole with Dumplings’ -  Comfort Food to die for!!

Over the weekend I’m making a batch of my famous Tomato Salsa and then will prepare more of my very special ‘Minestrone Soup’ ready for the week in the run up to Xmas – menus to follow!!

Tomorrow morning we are shooting across to Estepona to collect Brenda’s ear rings from the jewellers and also for last minute essentials ie, cosmetics & winter socks! When we get back I’m in the kitchen again as I’m making a ‘Chicken Curry’ for our supper.

We still of course have our regular ‘Happy Hour’ cocktails at around 6-00 pm as we settle down before supper, no reading at this time of the year as its too dark and we don’t like having the main lounge lights on, we watch on BBC 2 the quiz programme ‘Eggheads’ but no ‘Soaps’!!

Later on all the main channels there was a live two hour debate with the two leaders of the 'PP' & PSOE' going head to head in what was a very lively and heated debate.The Prime Minister, Mariano Rajoy ( PP) was corned by the Socialist leader ( PSOE)  and was accused of corruption! The General Election is on Sunday and the forecast is for a coalition government - but with who?!

Thoughts for the Day; See above.
