WARM IN SUNNY MANILVA ON " THREE KINGS DAY "

MONDAY 6th/JANUARY 2014

The pictures above are from last nights ‘Three Kings’ parade along Calle Mar; they are OK but I’ am working on the settings on the new camera for the night-time photographs! The village was packed and all the children, as well as some adults went mad collecting the sweets in plastic bags and up-turned umbrellas!

This morning we were awoken by the sun coming in through the shutters; as the morning went on it got even better and by the time we went for our walk with the dogs down to the ‘Mirador’ it was hot – in fact 25degs!! See the pictures above. The village is very quiet today as its a bank holiday most of the bars are closed and the only sign of activity is the children playing in the park with their toys.

Before we went out we got things on the go for tonight’s supper with Mano & Anna; Roast Crown of Turkey with a savory Chestnut and Tarragon stuffing,’ Pigs in Blankets’ and of course my famous finger licking Gravy. Brenda’s selection of vegetables is Broccoli & Cauliflower florets in a three Cheese sauce’- Crushed Carrots & Parsnips, Brussels Sprouts with Smoked Bacon sippits, Garden Peas and baby New Potatoes and not forgetting the famous ‘Goose Fat’ Roast potatoes! The small ‘Tapas’ selection for starters are Semi-Curado Cheee,Local Chorizo & Iberian Ham and Smoked Salmon and cream cheese baby tartlets!

When we came back to the house I shot up to the office to set up the Skype video ready for my call from Bedwyr the artist from Caenarfon who is behind the project on the ‘Hotel Seventy Degrees’ – after talking to him for over an hour we are really excited about the concept and what and how he is doing it! He’s sending me a list of questions and then we are going to make contact again on the Skype; there is even talk, depending on funding, of him coming over to interview me on video! Watch this space. A possible ‘Star’ in the making!!

Thought for the Day; See above.
