DRY AND CRISP IN SUNNY MANILVA ON NEW YEAR DAY 2014;

WEDNESDAY 1st/ JANUARY 2014 !

Well welcome to 2014 to all our family and friends around the world; “ Happy New Year ” ‘Health & Wealth’ from sunny Manilva!

We had a nice lie in this morning before I took Charlie for his first walk of the day, after our tea and toast I made the ‘Boulangere’ Potatoes for tonight’s supper – I’ am roasting the marinated Lamb at the same time as the potatoes are cooking, we are having Diamond cut Green Beans and Crushed Carrots with the roast and lots of Mint Sauce!

Mano and Anna joined us for our ‘New Years Day’ brunch; we watched on TVE1 the concert from the ‘Golden Hall’ in Vienna given by ‘The Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra’ and this year conducted by Daniel Barenboim, the dresses for the ballet dancers were designed by Vivienne Westwood and the guest presenter this year was Julie Andrews!

We cracked open a nice bottle of Cava Reserva to start the New Year in the correct way! Fresh local Orange juice was either to make Bucks Fizz or as a drink and we had local Campo Scrambled Eggs with Smoked Salmon served on warm buttered toast!

Later we took both the dogs for a short walk around the village on a very mild and pleasant day in sunny Manilva.The new calendars are up and the wall planner also ready to take bookings!

This afternoon all the Premier League games are taking place over in England – all the results that matter later; in the early kick-off at Swansea – Manchester City have just won 2-3! Everton managed a draw at Stoke 1-1 and Liverpool won at Hull 0-2 !!

Last night before watching the New Years Eve celebrations from Madrid we watched on TVE2 an Australian ‘Grand Illusionist’ called “ Cosentino” – he has re-invented and updated all the great tricks and is rather good – if you like that sort of thing! We then on the stroke of Mid-Night ate our twelve grapes to welcome in the New Year.

After supper this evening I will have to get myself sorted out for my blood & urine tests in the morning – oh dear I forgot about the Bacardi & Coke and Cava!

Thought for the Day to start the New Year; See above.
