SHOWERS BUT NO WIND IN SUNNY MANILVA AT THE START OF THE WEEKEND;

FRIDAY 17th/ JANUARY 2014.

Well the rain has finally arrived overnight and we are in for it for the next three days; it is also going to be a little cooler then will pick up at the start of next week! We shot down to the local market first for our flowers and at the same time I made an appointment at the surgery to have an review/ update with our Doctor before the next round of appointments over at the hospital in February, then it was down to Sabinillas for our regular shopping and we just managed to miss any real rain, after dropping Brenda back at the house I put the car away in the underground car park and walked to the chemists for some prescriptions and then down to the butchers for our Saturday night ‘Steak a la Plancha’

This evening’s supper is ‘Goujons of Hake’ using breadcrumbs from the local bakery, Homemade Tartar sauce on the side and Mushy Peas together with crisp twice-cooked diced Chips! The other day when I was out with Mano he picked up from the supermarket a pack of his favorite “ Tortas De Aceite ” – it was the original/legitimate and accredited pack of the thin, crisp sweet ‘Aniseed’ flavored biscuits in the special greaseproof paper individually wrapped to keep them fresh! I spotted them this morning in ‘Mercadona’- They are addictive and delicious with your cup of tea!( as a treat!) See the picture above;

It looks like we are going to have a long weekend at home as the forecast is for storms on Saturday and Sunday, so no walking the dog, she goes out on the terrace down at her house when the weather is bad! We sometimes go and collect her and bring her back to the house to play for a while!!

The picture above shows the Mayor Antonia Munoz welcoming the new village padre D.Francisco Javier Fernandez Berruezo after the departure of the previous controversial incumbent Nicholas Timpu back to Romania! ( It's a long story !)

Last night we watched our regular Spanish soap that we follow and at the same time there was football on another channel, it was the ‘Copa Del Rey’ second round game at Getafe against Barcelona – they won 0-2 with Messi scoring both the goals, one of them a stunner and on aggregate 0-6 ! Watch out Manchester City as they are due to play Barcelona and Messi, both back to their best, next month on the ‘Champions League’!!

This evening after our ‘Fish supper’ we will find a film to watch as it’s the best night on all the channels for movies.

Thought for the Day; See above.
