WARM AND SUNNY MANILVA ON THURSDAY

THURSDAY 5th/ DECEMBER 2013.

We overslept this morning as I forgot to bring the mobile-phone alarm to bed! After our tea and toast we went down to the surgery to book in for some tests for me as I have to make appointments for January with the Prostrate consultant for my check up, fingers crossed, and for a Dermatology check also, Brenda has appointments in February to check how her eyes are going on after the new glasses.

After calling into the bank Brenda was buying up the fruit and vegetable market as they had all sorts of fresh vegetables in, Parsnips, Sprouts etc.We then went to ‘Mercadona’ for our regular shopping for the weekend as they are closed tomorrow for the bank holiday; at the English bookshop we managed to collect some of the papers and a small appointments Diary for me, last week Brenda found a Diary for her as she keeps one for herself!

After un-packing I shot around to the butchers for our Saturday night steak and some Chicken wings for Tapas; in Calle Mar there was a stall selling ‘Poinsettia’s’ so as the flower market is also closed tomorrow I bought a nice one for the start of my ‘Poinsettia’ collection as a buy one every week into the run up to Xmas for inside and outside in our window display!

We then went for a walk around the village with both the dogs as you can see in the pictures above; they have started laying the concrete for the new ‘Plaza’ where the Old Town was at the top of Calle Mar, also they are finishing off the streets around the ‘Plaza Pozo Del Rey’ – the outside work on the church looks nearly finished and the new passage way is staring to take shape, finally in the  ‘Plaza de la Vendimia’ the views across to the mountains is looking rather special as yet again today we have a warm and sunny day with no breeze in sunny Manilva! The weekend is also staying fine, we will find out tonight what the start of next week is going to bring us.

Mano called in for a chat and gossip update as Anna is away! He collected his take-away A La Carte meal for tonight ‘Braised Steak and mixed Vegetables’ Anna is back on Sunday morning, she is flying into the airport in Malaga.

Last night over in England there was a full programme of games in the ‘Premiers League’ Liverpool beat Norwich 5-1 with Suarez scoring four, Manchester City managed to hang on at West Brom and win 2-3 but the ‘RESULT’ of the night was Everton beating Manchester Utd at Old Trafford 0-1 for the first time in a long while! Big Bri over in Pori,Finland was to say the least a very ‘Happy Camper’- see the picture above of Bryan Oviedo after scoring the winning goal! ( especially for Big Bri!)

Tonight after supper, Cheese Omelet for Brenda and the left-over Braised Steak and Potatoes for me, we will find a film to watch.

PS; News is just coming in via Facebook that our dear friend Jane's shop has been damaged in the storms this morning; " Williamson's Bakery at Castle" in Northwich had its windows blown out as the gales hit the town, no casualties and everybody OK! The road is closed and the shop ! Jane had just done her excellent Xmas display in the window at the end of last week! See the the before and after pictures above. Our thoughts go out to Jane and David and all her staff at this difiicult time xx

Thought for the Day; See above.
