CLEAR AND CRISP IN SUNNY MANILVA ON WEDNESDAY;

WEDNESDAY 4th/ DECEMBER 2013.

Well this morning its still crisp but still no sign of any major change in the weather; the forecast is still good over the weekend with no rain on the horizon at the moment.

I shot around to the butchers and picked up some Braising steak for tonight’s supper which I then got ready; browned off the steak which I dust in seasoned flour, sweat-off a lot of sliced Onions, then I make the sauce with diced Onions, Carrots, Turnips, Leeks, Celery, Green Peppers & cut Green Beans with whole Baby Mushrooms along with my secret ingredients together with a good Beef & Vegetable stock and a slug of red Wine! I then season to taste and put everything in a large baking dish to go in the oven tonight to finish cooking. Brenda meanwhile has Cabbage with Acelgas, Baby Carrots with Garden Peas and New Potatoes boiled in their skins on the go.

Mano called in as he was out walking the dog and picked up his tub of Minestrone soup which I add things too, Pasta Tubes, Spaghetti, Cut Beans and Peas, Tomato salsa etc. as it matures! Anna is due back from England this Sunday after her ‘Jolly’ with her family.

Today it’s an at home day catching up with the chores around the house, Brenda has got into a cleaning mode and has started tile washing, cupboard cleaning as well as the stair walls ! I’ am up in the office on the WWW catching up with the e-mails. Before our tea and toast this morning we sent a Facebook birthday greeting (the card is in the post!) to Lyn over in Melbourne – “Happy Birthday” – lots of love xx

Last nights film was an epic science fiction disaster movie directed by Steven Spielberg and starring Tom Cruise – “ War of the Worlds ” from 2005 with the child star Dakota Fanning as his daughter and Justin Chatwin as his son; the story is a loose adaptation of the ‘H.G. Well’s’ novel, the special effects are spectacular and its very gripping right up to the end !

Thought for the Day; See above.
