A CALM AND SUNNY DAY IN MANILVA ON THURSDAY

THURSDAY 12th/ DECEMBER 2013.

This morning after our breakfast I prepared some good old fashioned “Chicken Maryland” – using the Chicken boned-out leg & thigh, I floured, egg-washed and then bread crumbed the pieces – I added to the fresh breadcrumbs salt &,pepper, mixed herbs, Paprika and some secret ingredients ( My version is more like Kentucky-Fried !) with also Banana slices and whole Onion rings getting the coating ! Then they will all be deep fried in vegetable oil along with some smoked Bacon slices, my Tomato salsa will be served on the side!!

We then went for a long walk around the village with Chispa as you can see in the picture above; the new small square at the top of Calle Mar is starting to take shape, Calle Loboto is nearly finished by the Plaze Pozo del Rey, the church is due to be ready in February which will be just in time for the ‘Semana Santa’ celebrations, the new passage way is also taking shape and finally we came back across ‘Plaza de la Vendimia’

Brenda is having a washing day as the forecast if for some of the wet stuff by Saturday; tomorrow we are out on our usual shopping morning which is looking like a large one as we stock up for Xmas.( Friday 13th !) The Xmas Carol concert this year, is a week today and is taking place down in the large Multipurpose Hall down by the sports complex; lets hope they have arranged some extra heaters as it’s a rather cold place at any time!

We have had an e-mail from Gillian over in Torquay to say that she is settling in after having problems with her internet connections –enjoy your new home and we look forward to welcoming you back to ‘Little’ sunny Manilva next year!

Last night we watched a rather strange film called “ A Love Song for Bobby Long ” from 2004 with John Travolta, Gabriel Macht?! and the very watch able Scarlett Johansson – based in the back streets of old New Orleans it’s a moving tale about life as it happens!

Thought for the Day; See above.
