A CRISP AND SUNNY MANILVA ON WEDNESDAY;

WEDNESDAY 10th/ DECEMBER 2014.

We were up bright and early this morning as Brenda had an appointment with the doctor to update her prescriptions and chase up her heart check up, so after a quick breakfast she shot off to the surgery and I waited for ‘Scruffy’ to arrive for the day as Rose is due at the hospital over in Marbella for an important check up. I then set off to call into the local bank for some cash but they are installing a new machine so I then carried on to the surgery with ‘Scruffy’ and met Brenda.

Today it’s bright and sunny but a little crisp at the moment, the sun is out and it will warm up later, the rest of week and over the weekend is looking good with more of the same unlike Northern Spain which has the tail end of the storms that at hitting the UK today on ‘Black Wednesday’ - as the large Atlantic front/bomb hits the country with Snow, Wind, Rain and anything else that it picks up! I'ts called ab 'Explosive Cyclogenesis' - honest!! We hope that the 'Queen' and her 'Consort' are all right 'up-north' in Skelton?!

When we came back to the house ‘Chispa’ came calling so Brenda took her out as she had to go back to the surgery as they has put her old mobile number on the heart documents! Meanwhile I got on with making a fresh batch of my famous Tomato Salsa to go away in the deep freeze and then I got ready a dish of ‘Boulangere Potatoes’ ready for tonight’s special supper “ Rack of Lamb with a Mixed Herb Crust ” which I will roast them on! I picked up the Lamb last Friday and found out that it was from ‘New Zealand’!

It’s a bit different as the centre bone has been taken out so I’ve had to string them together (Brenda!)  to make two racks; this evening I will seal them off and pre-cook them then leave them to rest before smearing them with Mustard, American for Brenda and Dijon for me! Then I will coat then with my special ‘Mixed Herb Crust’ made with local Breadcrumbs, freshly chopped Mint & Parsley, and Rosemary, Tarragon & the secret ingredients as well as a little Virgin Olive Oil! With the Lamb we are having Diamond Cut Green Beans and Carrot Batons with Ginger. We can’t wait!! See the pictures later;

Last night as we were just preparing to go to bed I noticed the Jack was online on the ‘Skype’ video so we made contact and had a good old catch up with him and Lyn, it was the morning over in Melbourne with the ten hour time difference, they are starting to get excited as a week today they are off on their ‘Xmas Cruise’ around New Zealand, they get back just before the New Year, they have a suite with a balcony, it’s the same liner that they went on a couple of hears ago around Australia! They have received our Xmas and Birthday cards (Lyn) – yesterday we received theirs! We wish them a very Happy Christmas and a Healthy New Year!!

So after supper last night we watched the end of the ‘Champions League’ football on ‘TVE 1’ – Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid went through to the next round but sadly Liverpool were eliminated, they have played terribly and deserve to be put out!

Thoughts for the Day; See above.
