A VERY CRISP AND SUNNY MANILVA AT THE START OF THE WEEK;

MONDAY 10th/NOVEMBER 2014.

‘Reina’ arrived very early this morning so I was able to grab a quick breakfast before going around to the surgery for my appointment with our Doctor; first the good news, all my blood levels are fine, heart and lungs clear, Cholesterol levels OK,Blood Pressure fine and my Prostrate reading correct – now for the not so good news, my Diabetic Sugar Levels are not too good, this means that I have to change my tablet’s and in the words of our Doctor ‘Malcolm – ‘Diet’ & ‘Walk’ more’! ‘Cut out the Sweet things’!!  The chest pains/pressure that I was having have nearly stopped so no need for any further investigations at the moment. So after seeing the Eye Consultant on Wednesday morning that’s everything checked out – for this year – fingers crossed!!

So we have just been for a good walk down to the roundabout with 'Chispa' - on the way back we stopped for a coffee on' Bar Las Vinas' and picked up the bread at the same time -'Reina' is snug in her Duvet back in the house -see the picture below of 'Chispa' taking in the sights!

This morning its very crisp and sunny with a clear blue sky, the forecast for tomorrow when I’m going across to Estepona for the ‘ITV-MOT’ on the car in the afternoon is for a little rain but then on Wednesday/Thursday its fine again and getting warmer.

After coming back from the surgery I’ve just made a large pan of my famous ‘Minestrone Soup’ - I use as a base my Tomato Salsa and then add, wait for it, add the cooked/sweated off vegetables etc along with all sorts of cooked ingredients, all diced/chopped’shreaded with Garlic, Shallots, Peppers, Cabbage with Alselgas, Green & White Beans, Lentils, Celery, Carrots, Leek, Parsnips, Potatoes, Broccoli & Cauliflower, Spaghetti & Pasta – add a good vegetable stock and season with Mixed Herbs and Tomato Frito to taste! Warm local bread from around the corner finishes off the ‘Soup of the Day/Week’! See below - served in our special 'Paul Bocuse' bowls!

This evening we are having for our supper a ‘Mini-Mixed Grill’ from anything I can find in the fridge/deep freeze – Calves Liver,Steak,Sausage,Lamb Cutlet,Tomato,Mushrooms etc with dry sautéed thick-cut Baked Potatoes – that will set us up for the week ahead – then its ‘Diet Time’ – watch this space!

Last night after supper we found a film to watch bit it was on ‘Antenna 3’ so it had the 7 minute commercial breaks which make it 45 minutes longer! “The Da Vinci Code” from 2006 with Tom Hanks, Audrey Tautou, Ian McKellan, Alfred Molina, Jean Reno and Paul Brittany – the book was better!

PS; Sorry but there was no good pictures taken of the ‘Minimoto’ racing yesterday – only the Trophy presentations! ( Just found one) of the 'Senior Race'! Also the poster for the racing to give you an idea!!

Thoughts for the Day; See above.
