A STILL WARM AND SUNNY MANILVA ON MONDAY AT THE START OF A ' HELLUVA ' WEEK !

MONDAY 3rd/ NOVEMBER 2014.

We had a phone call early this morning, from Daniela to let us know that Barbara has gone into labour earlier this morning so she was dropping ‘Reina’ off first thing; this means that she is going to be with us from Monday to Thursday for the next few weeks!

After breakfast we went for a walk with ‘Reina’ and ‘Chispa’ ( who had arrived early!) down to the butchers for the Beef Mince for tomorrows ‘Cottage Pie’ – I also bought some very nice fresh in Calves Liver for later in the week. On the way back we called into the local fruit & vegetable shop for a Leek, fresh Alselgas and Baby Turnips- all from local ‘Campo’s’

The weather over the weekend has been gorgeous, clear Blue skies, sunshine and warm with just a little breeze to make it very pleasant, better than forecast, but tomorrow all over Spain including here the forecast is for rain storms then back to normal on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, getting hotter at the same time!

This week we are very busy, in ‘Doggy World Heaven’ - ‘Scruffy’ is with us on Tuesday for a two day sleep-over, ‘Charlie’ the African Grey Parrot also arrives on Tuesday for a week here in ‘Bird Sanctuary Paradise’ Andy is stopping for the ‘Cottage Pie’ He’s going to help me book on-line for the ‘ITV – MOT’ yearly test.

Then on Wednesday I’m taking Andy across to the Airport in Malaga in his car and will then pick him up in a weeks time and later at lunchtime when I get back I’m taking our Swedish friend Lillemor to the bus station over in Marbella as she is flying back to Gotenberg!

We have our ‘Gripe – Anti-Flu Jabs’ on Thursday lunchtime at the surgery then I’m back on Friday morning for the results of my blood tests, just changed by the surgery to a week today, before we go down to Sabinillas for our regular shopping; at lunchtime I have the first of my eye test appointments over at the hospital in Marbella! Are you keeping up?! See the Diary below !!

This evening for supper we are having Cold Roast Pork with a fry-up of the leftover vegetables and potatoes, then after caching up with all the new, sport and weather details we will find something to watch; last night we watched the USA ‘Grand Prix’ as we were having our supper – Hamilton won after passing his team mate Rosberg on the fast uphill hairpin on the inside!

Then we watched on TV3 the ‘Bond’ movie “ Quantum of Solace ”from 2008 with Daniel Craig, Olga Kurycenko,Mathiew Armalric,Giancarlo Gianini and Judy Dench – the only problem is that the channel is a commercial station and has very long breaks – 7 minutes at frequent intervals so it makes the film over 30/40 minutes longer!!

So in the breaks I channel hopped and ended up on the ‘Discovery Channel’ – it said that it was live but I could not be sure as they are normally not! It was from live from Chicago and was showing the US Tightrope walker ‘Nik Wallenda’ completing back-to-back high-wire walks above the city with no safety net or harness! First he walked up a steep incline and then crossed blindfolded between the twin Maria City Towers- 500ft  - all in the dark! He’s from the famous ‘ Flying Walenda’ family, his father was killed many year ago attempting the same feet!! I've just read that there was a 10 second delay in case of an accident !!

PS; We have just received in the post a nice surprise post card from Josie & Den showing the large church in Skelton that they live next too; see below a picture of the happy couple taken over the weekend by their 7 year old grand daughter Olivia !

Thoughts for the Day; See above.
