A STILL SUNNY MANILVA AT THE MOMENT ON THURSDAY;

THURSDAY 20th/ NOVEMBER 2014.

No lie in for the wicked this morning as little princess ‘Reina’ was due early for the day so I took ‘Scruffy’ out for his first walk of the day before she arrived; you see all the locals picking up their fresh bread from the local Bakery in the village at Supermarket ‘Antonio’s’ in Calle Mar and taking their children off to the school as well as going/coming to work.

It is looking like we are having another fine day here in sunny Manilva but by Sunday some of the wet stuff is due as there is large front coming up from the ‘Canary Islands’ from across the Atlantic!

After breakfast Brenda shot off to catch the bus down to Sabinillas to go for her appointment at the hairdressers to have the ‘full works’ – its going to be a major operation – see the before and after pictures later!

Before;

And after!

So I’m up in the office with the two dogs at my feet catching up with the WWW, reading all the national newspapers, checking on the E-Mails and facebook messages etc. As you can see I’m now typing the Blog and will publish it a little later.

When Brenda gets back at lunchtime we will go for a walk around the village, she’s coming back up in a taxi..This evening for supper we are having just Omelet’s to make up for last nights treat of ‘Frits’ We are now into our weekly ‘weigh in’s’- I’ve lost a little and so has Brenda, I’ve cut out the biscuits, crisps, chocolates and of course butter and the deep-fried chips! Honest!!

I've just updated tonight's supper,I'm going to make a classic Spanish dish for a change " Tortilla with Peas " but using my recipe by adding diced Smoked Bacon along withe the Potatoes,Onions and Peas!!

On facebook all the ‘New Moon Pub Company’ Gastropubs now have video presentations with what can only be described as a ‘food-porn’ voice overs! I wondered if Jane auditioned for the job??!!

Yesterday evening we watched on ‘TVE 2’ another episode of the 2002 ‘Michael Palin’ programme as he crossed the Sahara, he left Timbuktu on a camel in this one!

Later on one of the more obscure channels we watch the second episode of the American mini-series called “ Hatfields and McCoys ” from 2012 about two actual real life feuding families back in the late 1800s in Kentucky and West Virginia - hence the title – starring Kevin Costner and Bill Paxton as the two ‘Matriarch’s’? of the families – the only problem of the well made series is understanding the dialogue/accents of the local hillbillies!!

Thoughts for the Day; See above.
