A STILL GREY AND OVERCAST SUNNY MANILVA ON THURSDAY;

THURSDAY 13th NOVEMBER 2014.

This morning ‘Reina’ was dropped off as normal and we all went back to bed for a little lie in, then after breakfast is was shave (Me!) & shower time before we sorted ourselves out for the weekend ahead; today we are having a quiet day at home catching up with the chores, then tomorrow morning it’s the shopping, in the rain that is forecast.

Brenda is calling into her hairdressers to arrange an appointment for an estimate to sort out/attack/cut/trim/color etc - her mane of long hair (Six months!) ready for our 43rd ‘Wedding Anniversary’ at the end of the month when we are going out on the Saturday evening for dinner to one of our old favorite restaurants across in Guadalmina - “Restaurante Victor”

Today its still overcast and grey but dry at the moment and then over the weekend its getting better after the wet stuff on Friday; we are planning on Sunday morning/lunchtime to go down to ‘Duquesa Marina’ as there is a ‘Classic Car’ meeting on the front of the port, afterwards we will have a light ‘Tapas’ lunch in one of the Bars as we are not roasting this Sunday again!

On the menu/diet front tonight we are having the rest of the Beef Curry( economics!) this evening then on Friday its plain grilled ‘Hake Fillets’ with New Potatoes and Garden Peas – all no butter! On Saturday its plain grilled ‘Entrecote Steak’ with Baked Potato and a Mixed Salad – no butter again!! Then on Sunday evening I'm going to make my special ‘Smoked Chicken & Broad Bean Risotto’

Later this morning I shot around to the ‘Opticians’ in Calle Mar to check out new lenses for my glasses, they fitted me in straight away for the Eye tests and then gave me the estimate, unbelievably expensive even with the pensioners discount, I said I don’t want to buy a car, just new lenses!! Notice the date today – 13th!! We are going to have to shop around for some more quotes – in the New Year!

I then called into the Town Hall at the top of our street to make sure/enroll on the voting list for the elections next year, we are registered but we will call into the office down in Sabinillas tomorrow to update any details.

When I got back to the house Andy had arrived to pick up ‘Charlie’ We picked Andy up from the airport over in Malaga last night, the Departure Terminal was very quiet and ‘eerie’ - the only sign of people was when a plane arrived and they all did the same trick as we had planned and came up to the Departure Terminal to meet their family and friends to be picked up!! 'Charlie' is coming back over the New Year for two weeks this time. See the picture below of 'Charlie' taken by Brenda on her Mobile phone - her first attempt!

So this evening after supper we will catch up with all the news, sport and weather details before finding something to watch on our newly tuned TV – Miguel the engineer called in on Tuesday evening and sorted it out, we now have all the main channels in ‘HD’ with some new channels (Gibraltar TV!) as well as the main ‘Paramount’ film channel and some new small stations to investigate!

PS; We have just received in the post another special postcard from Josie & Den sent direct from her Mobile phone, see the picture below of the envelop and the postcard which shows the little market town of  ‘Ashbourne’ in Derbyshire where they have family – thanks – yours is in the good old fashioned post!

Thoughts for the Day; See above.
