A CRISP AND SUNNY MANILVA ON SUNDAY;

SUNDAY 9th/ NOVEMBER 2014. “REMEMBRANCE SUNDAY”

No lie in this morning as we had a good nights sleep, during the night we had a small rain storm but now as forecast its clear, crisp and sunny in Manilva; over the next few days at the start of the week a little of the wet stuff is still forecast at the moment and its a little colder - 20degs only!

At the moment I’m watching the ‘BBC TV 1 Breakfast News’ before following the ‘Remembrance Day’ service and parade from the ‘Cenotaph’ in London.

Yesterday in the afternoon I was able to watch the Wales v Australia game via my ‘IT’ connection to ‘BBC TV 1’ but my plan to follow the England v New Zealand match on my sports channel connection on the larger PC at the same time was foiled as I couldn’t get a good online connection! So I had to follow the match on the ‘BBC Sports Text’ as it happened. Sadly Wales lost 26-33 and England lost 21-24.

Meanwhile Liverpool lost to Chelsea 1-2 and Manchester City could only draw 2-2 at OPR – over here Barcelona won at Almeria 1-2 and Real Madrid beat Rayo Vallecano 5-1 – over in Sao Paulo Rosberg is on pole with Hamilton second!

One piece of local sports news is that today down on the ‘Rastro Ground’ in the valley below the village there is a ‘Minimoto Tourrnament’ for the young children on their very small but very fast Mini-Motorcycles – see some pictures later.

Next week is a very busy time in ‘Doggy World Heaven’ as ‘Reina’ is with us from Monday to Thursday and ‘Scruffy’ is on a sleep-over on Friday and Saturday’ ‘Charlie’ is still with us until Thursday morning in ‘Bird Sanctuary Paradise’ as we are picking Andy up from the airport over in Malaga late on Wednesday evening.

On the personal front I have an appointment with our Doctor first thing on Monday morning to get the results of my blood tests/X-Rays, the chest pains have gone a lot better so we will see! Then on Tuesday afternoon it’s the visit over to Estepona for the ‘ITV-MOT’ on the car before on Wednesday morning I have my appointment with the Eye Consultant over at the hospital in Marbella for the results of my tests over the last couple of weeks. So after all this hopefully I and the car will be firing on all cylinders!! Watch this space.

This evening we are having a simple meal of Flattened ‘Turkey Breast’ cooked in foaming Lemon Butter and served on a bed of savory Basmati Rice with finely sliced Green Beans and Broccoli Florets – a rich and creamy Mushroom Sauce on the side – no ‘Roast’ this weekend. See below.

We will then find a film to watch,last night we had no luck and ended up watching a new series on ‘TVE1’ about two German brothers fighting in WW2 – in German with Spanish sub-titles!

Thoughts for the Day; See above.
