STILL WARM AND SUNNY MANILVA ON TUESDAY;

TUESDAY 15th/ APRIL 2014.

We had yet another nice lie in this morning until the gas-bottle delivery man honked his horn! The weather forecast for the rest of the ‘Semana Santa’ week is most importantly dry but it’s gradually getting colder as a large cold front comes in from the Atlantic and crosses Spain on its way to the UK over the weekend and at the start of next week!

‘Scruffy’ is coming to stay with us for his ‘Easter Holiday’ on Good Friday and is staying until Easter Monday as his mum & dad are busy working; we are really looking forward to seeing him again – he’s no problem and its great to have him around!

This morning after breakfast we had our ‘New Menu’ planning meeting for this week; so today we are having cold Smoked Chicken & local York Ham salad, then tomorrow it’s a small ‘Minute Steak’ with a Baked potato and a mixed salad, on Thursday we are having Omelet’s before Friday’s ‘Fish Night’ when it will be plain grilled fish fillets with Garden Peas, on Saturday we will still have our ‘Steak a la Plancha’ – plain grilled with a Baked Potato and a Tomato salad before Sunday’s flattened Turkey Breast with savory Basmati rice!! Weigh is on Monday morning’s as we get up!!

As we went for our walk with the dog around the village we bumped into four 'French Canadian' people form Quebec so I gave then the potted history and sent them to 'Bar Rojas' for their morning coffee and told them to try the special 'Empanadas Atun' that Lumy has just made! - the 'Galician' Tuna Pie !

Yesterday evening we had a nice long Skype video chat with Bedwyr (Williams) over in Caenarfon, he lives in a village outside the town and the ‘Welsh Highland Railway’ is at the bottom of his garden!  The project on the “Hotel Seventy Degrees” is nearly ready and the official opening is at the ‘Oriel Mostyn Art Gallery’ in Llandudno this coming Thursday evening! It is also going on show at a well respected Art Gallery in Salzburg, Austria later in the year!!

 Bedwyr is an award winning Visual Artist and was the Welsh artist- in-residence at the Venice Biennale, he has also exhibited at the ‘Saatchi Gallery’ So to all our friend’s over in North Wales pop along and check it out – he is sending us some copies of the project by E-Mail and also in the post tapes of the opening and some special framed pictures!! We can’t wait to see and hear all about the show and are very excited to be involved, we even get a mention?!  Thanks Bedwyr for asking us to participate as it’s brought back many happy memories of our time at the hotel and of course all the wonderful and loyal staff and customers - as we have talked to you and answered all your questions!

This evening we are picking our Swedish friend Lillemor( Gotenberg) up and taking her across to the bus station over in Marbella to pick up her friend Linda( Stockholm) that is arriving after a flight into Malaga.See the picture above.

The set of pictures above are taken by photographing them off the TV so they are a little wobbley - from the 'Canal Sur - Andalusia Directo' evening programme  they show live coverage of all the 'Semana Santa' processions as they happen across the region in Malaga,Seville,Jaen,Huelva, Granada,Cordoba,Almeria and many other towns!

PS; Welcome back to the 'Costa Del Sol' to Doreen & Claus - hope you had a safe journey and are now well rested - hope to see you soon!

PPS; Our late supper was the classic " Eggs Benedict " with a twist - Brenda forgot to pick up some York Ham this morning so I used Turkey Breast ! Rather nice !! See the picture above.

Thoughts for the Day; See above.
