" EASTER SUNDAY" IN A NOW RATHER WET SUNNY MANILVA;

EASTER SUNDAY 20th/ APRIL 2014.

We were up bright and early this morning and picked Den & Josie up to take them across to ‘La Linea de la Concepcion’ to cross to the airport in Gibraltar to catch their flight home, we will miss having them around and are looking forward to seeing them again in June! See the picture above. On the way down to La Linea the views across the ‘Strait’s’ to Gibraltar and then the ‘Riff’ Mountain’s and Africa were spectacular, clear skies and sunshine over Africa, the threatened rain and storms have not hit us, yet but we did pass through some light sunny showers!

So today it’s the final two processions in sunny Manilva  for the‘Semana Santa’ week if the rain holds off long enough – “ Santisimo Christo Resucitado” & “ Santisima Virgen del Rosario A.M.D.G.” – both at lunchtime – watch this space, fingers crossed for them! It has just started to rain – heavy !! So the processions took place inside the church as you can see above - the pictures thanks to Antonia, the Mayor!

When we got back from the ‘Executive Chauffeur driven Limousine’ run to the airport with the ‘Guard Dog –Scruffy’ as you can see in the picture above we then had our traditional ‘Easter Sunday’ morning breakfast – ‘Scrambled Campo Eggs with Smoked Salmon’ to set us up for the day ahead. Tonight’s supper is flattened ‘Breast of Turkey’ pan-fried in foaming Lime Butter and served on a bed of savory Basmati rice with a sauceboat of a creamy Mushroom sauce on the side!

This morning over at the ‘Chinese Grand Prix’ in Shanghai Lewis Hamilton won after his third successive win; all the football scores later for over here and in England.

Atletico Madrid won 2-0 against Elche,Liverpool won at Norwich 2-3 and are now 5 points clear at the top of the 'Premiere League' and Everton v Manchester Utd. is on at the moment! Come on the 'Blues!' Everton have just won 2-0 - I know a certain fella over in Pori Finland who will be celebrating for a while !! Over here this evening Barcelona won 2-1 and Messi scored!

Last night we watched a very good old fashioned cowboy movie called “Open Range”from 2003 which was produced by, directed and starred Kevin Costner, with Robert Duval in the part of ‘Boss’ – he is the best ever ‘Cowboy’ actor, and the alluring and very watch able Annette Bening as the love interest and the baddie is played by the menacing Michael Gambon – catch it to see the final spectacular shoot out!
