WARM AND CRISP IN SUNNY MANILVA ON SATURDAY;

SATURDAY 22nd/ FEBRUARY 2014.

We had a nice lie in this morning and then got up to yet another glorious sunny day here in sunny Manilva! It’s staying fine tomorrow but the start of next week could be a little damp before picking up again; after our tea and toast I have de-camped to the office and I’ am watching the breakfast programme on BBC TV live on the small PC, next it’s ‘Saturday Morning Kitchen’ – meanwhile on the large PC as you can see I’ am typing the Blog after checking out the WWW.

I then are back in the kitchen to get ready tonight’s supper after we come back from the ‘Carnival’ parade in the village - ‘Steak a la Plancha’ with sautéed Mushrooms and Onions, twice-cooked chips, finely sliced Green Beans, mine topped with a fried Campo Egg and Brenda’s with deep-fried Garlic buds; I’ am also getting ready for tomorrow’s night roast supper some Tapas to start with as Josie is joining us for the ‘Roast Loin of Pork’ with glazed ‘Fuji’ apple slices!

The 'Carnival' parade pictures are above - all the news tomorrow;

Yesterday evening I received from Josie an E-Mail via ‘Ancestry.Com’ – It was my ‘Family Tree’ back to the early 1800s showing both side of the family particularly on my father’s side including my great grandfather who was born in Brussels, Belgium in 1852! It also turns out that my farther was the youngest of seven children – the ‘Tree’ is interactive and you can adjust and add to it – thanks Josie – we will see you later for a glass of Cava!

Today is another big sports day with in the ‘la Liga’ as Real Madrid welcome Elche and Barcelona travel to Real Sociedad, over in the ‘Premiere League’ it’s Chelsea v Everton, Manchester City v Stoke and tomorrow Liverpool v Swansea; last night in the ‘Six Nations Rugby’ Wales beat France 27-6 and today England welcome Ireland ( with Sexton) England beat Ireland 13-10 in a pulsating game of Test Match Rugby after Sexton made a mistake letting England score !!

Oh 'B----r ! Everton played brilliantly and defended very well - sadly Chelsea scored in the 90min to make the score 1-0 - I watched the game 'Live' on 'First Row Sports' on the large PC - sorry Big Bri !! Man.City won 1-0; over here Real won 3-0 but Barcelona LOST 3-1 - oh 'B----r' - again !!

After supper this evening we will watch the news, weather and sports highlights including some of the final events in the Winter Olympics when seven Gold Medals are up for grabs!

Thought for the Day; See above.
