A LOVELY WARM DAY IN SUNNY MANILVA AT THE START OF THE WEEKEND;

FRIDAY 7th/ FEBRUARY 2014.

Up before the birds this morning and after our tea and toast we shot around to the surgery to make an appointment at the small hospital in Estepona for my Chest X-Ray – result – next Wednesday morning early! We then carried on down to Sabinillas to the bank first, then the supermarket and lastly picked up the papers.

After unpacking back at our house I shot around to the butchers for our Saturday night ‘Steak a la Plancha’ I then made a new batch of my now famous ‘Minestrone’ soup which we have at lunchtime when it’s not so warm outside with an old classic from the past that Brenda makes ‘Melba Toast’ !

At lunchtime we went for a short walk with the dog and called in at the Vets as she seemed a littler off colour,they are checking her tablets and medication - watch this space.

This evening for Friday ‘Fish ‘night we are having guess what?! - ‘Goujons of Hake Fillet’ – we picked up some fresh breadcrumbs from the bakery this morning, with Mushy Peas and small diced twice-cooked ‘Chips’-  I now keep a jar of my homemade Tartar sauce in the fridge and just freshen it up when needed! Lots of Lemon wedges are also called for.

Last night seared Calves Liver with all the trimmings was delicious, we all enjoyed it, Mano especially loves it- he’s tidying the house as Anna is back from her latest ‘Jolly’ over in England on Sunday evening!

We then watched "La Voz - The Voice' - Kids edition; it was rather good and very moving,some of the children had terrific voices and stage presence!

After supper this evening we will watch the news, sport and weather forecast for the weekend before catching a film later; today is the official opening ceremony of the Winter Olympics from a rather at the moment ‘Warm and no snow!’ Sochi on the Black sea coast – the costliest winter games ever at £30 bn! We will watch it later this afternoon on the coverage on the Spanish ‘TDP’ channel.

Thought for the Day;See above.
