THURSDAY 6th/
FEBRUARY 2014.
A little
lie in this morning after the early starts as we were out and about down on the
‘Costa Del Sol’ Yesterday despite the rain Estepona was looking very good, the
council have done a marvelous job in all the streets of the old part of the
town; here in sunny Manilva our council have also re-laid all the streets and
of courses the other week placed all the plants pots around the village but the
Estepona council have taken it to another level.
Their
street ‘Planters’ are so much better, they have all sorts of more exotic plants
and flowers, all the lamp posts have double pots around the top and finally
they have covered all the streets in hanging wall pots in different colors in
each street,Blue,Green,Brown,Terracota etc. !! I’ve started to chase all our
local councilors to make more of a show here in sunny Manilva – watch this
space! We are going over to Estepona on a fine day and will take some pictures
for the Blog.
This
morning after tea and toast I shot around to the chemists then went down to the
butchers for something for tonight’s supper; we are having ‘Pan- Seared Calves
Liver’ with sautéed Onions, crisp Smokey Bacon and English Pork sausages (also
cooked crisp!) with a fry-up of the leftover vegetables and thick-sliced Baked
Potatoes dry-sautéed, on the side some of my now famous Tomato salsa that I
have made a fresh batch of this morning ready also to make some of my famous
‘Minestrone’ soup tomorrow morning!Mano is joining us for supper this evening after finishing work,its his favourite meal !
Tonight
after supper its Spanish soap night then a film; the weather at the moment is
picking up,today its another lovely day here in sunny Manilva,Brenda took the
dog around to the vets to get her toe nails cut and then have a shampoo( Chispa
not Brenda!)See the picture above of Chispa after having the full-works! We are then going for a walk around the village ,its already 20
degs this morning – the Town clock is working so watch out for the pictures
later.As you can see the clock is on time in the new small Plaza,they have planted a tall Palm tree and the lamp post has gone up!
