CRISP AND DRY AT THE MOMENT IN SUNNY MANILVA ON TUESDAY;

TUESDAY 11th/ FEBRUARY 2014.

A good lie in was called for this morning after all the excitement of yesterday evening! After out tea, toast, honey and Apple we went for a long walk around the village; at the moment the weather is hopefully on the change with none of the damp stuff and getting warmer by the weekend.

They have erected the fence by the side of the new small Plaza in Calle Mar which is nearly finished, we then went down to the new ‘Skateboard’ park which opens on Thursday evening, its behind the village conference centre as you can see in the pictures above, on the way back we called into the church and took some more pictures, also looking very good. The Oranges are all out on the trees around the village!

First of all we would like to say a very big “Thank You!” to Claus for taking us across to the hospital yesterday evening – and waiting!! We set off at 4-00pm for my 5-00pm appointment and I did not come out until 7-30pm!

After going to the admissions desk you the go along to a large waiting room which is very busy, no reception just a phone on the wall which rings and whoever answers it calls out the names! You are then taken to the robe room, Brenda had to take out my ear ring! Then you change and are then taken in a line like a ‘Chain Gang’- ‘Blue not Pink !’ up to the second floor were all the operating theatres are; another waiting room for the six of us, I was number six !!

When it was my turn I was taken into the theatre, there was a Surgeon consultant, my Prostrate consultant and three nurses to look after me! The first thing they asked was what kind of music I liked, I choose from the list the ‘Bee Gees!’ and we all started singing at the top of our voices – honest! After placing me on the tilting operating table the surgeon first give you an internal examination and said ‘All OK!’ He then administers a local anesthetic and I was soon ‘Floating’ and singing louder!

Its then time for the camera and laser to go were the sun does not shine, this time they took ten samples which get more uncomfortable after everyone – last time it was only six! After taking me off the table I then had a ‘Dirty Dance’ with one of the nurses and thanked everyone for their time and attention!! Both consultants are very nice and talk some English as well as the nurses as they are working – a running commentary! Back upstairs and dressed I then found Brenda and the Claus and came home as ‘High as a Kite!’

Tonight for supper we are having flattened Chicken Breast fillets, which we picked up from the butcher while we were out, cooked in foaming Lemon Butter and then a dash of Balsamic Vinegar with Diamond-cut Green Beans and thick-cut sliced Baked Potatoes - dry-sautéed.

We will then catch up with all the news, sport and weather reports before watching a film.

PS; The top pictures show the new menu from the “BinninGrill” that is opening next Monday at the ‘Lord Binning Pub & Kitchen’ in Kelsell with the “ Cheshire Ridge” for four persons – Prime local Fore-Rib of Beef  – grilled on Charcoal !

Thought for the Day; See above.
